Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

This phone just came out where I'm from and no one else has it yet. I just had a few questions. My biggest curiosity is does the phone have memory without having to buy a transflash card? And can you use the mP3 player without having one? How much memory is in the phone itself? Can you set mP3's as your ringtone and would I use the mP3's just from my playlists on my computer or do I have to get them from a special place. If I get them from my computer, do I need a special cord for it, some type of USB cable? It think that's it

For anyone with an E815:

Where is the / character on the E815 browser. On most Motorola phones it's under the 1 (one) key.

I have a customer using an E815 who can't find the / and claims it's not under the 1.

This is going to sound really stupid but how do you access and use the MP3 player in this phone. I cannot find anything in the menu.

Does anybody know if a Verizon CDMA 850 phone would work on the Sprint PCS CDMA 850 network?

I just picked up this phone 2 days ago, and so far so good. However, a question for you techies out there. I had a picture on my computer which I successfully transferred to the trans-flash card. I then inserted the card in the phone, and the picture shows up,,, but how do you the picture to be a picture ID with one of you contacts? The options listed for the pic do not include set as pic ID. Any ideas? Thank you

I've searched around and haven't had any luck even finding a discussion about this topic.

Is it just me or is there no predictive text system available in the browser? If so, that sure makes sending email from inside the browser a pain .. Gmail actually works in the browser too!

The only options I get are for Tap, Symbols and Emoticons...

Can someone confirm if this is or is not possible?

Has anyone swapped out there E815 for a Samsung A950? I really like my E815 but the weak vibrate/lack of airplane mode is really getting to me. I know that the A950 has all the same features but also has the Verizon UI on it. Any feed back?

I wanted to know if anyone picked up a logitech bluetooth headset (the black freedom device with BT v1.2).....is anyone other than me having this issue of an echo being heard on the other side. Everything is fine on my end, but everyone I talk to says they are hearing an echo. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks

I spoke to a verizon tech, and he told me that Motorola is working on a software update that will fix the annoying ECHO in the ear-piece of the E815. Anyone else hear about this?

Does anyone know if i can use my e815 charger to charge my hf800? I only have a car charger for the hf800 but would like to charge it at home so i can get a full charge.

i`m getting a e815 soon and was wondering if it works w/bitpim? i have a bt dongle and bitpim.i used to transfer pics and ringtone w/bitpim and my 8100 using bluetooth and was wondering if you can use it w/the e815? i have the cable also,but was wondering if bitpim works w/the e815?

Th1mper, you almost had it done, just needed the Driver!

Here is a breakdown on how to install MPT and the USB Driver.

1. After you install MPTs, click on the menu key on the displayed phone then Setup then Live Update.
2. The program then should download the new version 3.25b. You can check it by selecting Menu, Help, "About MPT".
3. Download the USB Driver here:

4. Unzip it and make sure you know what folder you unziped it to.
5. The driver does not have an install (setup file). You will have to install it with the Device Manager.
6. Make sure your phone is connected at this time with the USB cable. The 815 takes the same cable as the 720. I got mine off ...

has anybody else had there phone not pick back up a signal when going in dead zone?i can sometimes come back into a zone but the phone will be in power save mode.i can either hit the end button a couple of times or have to turn it off and right back on and have a full signal.went through two different 815 and had to go back to my lg6000.

I'm trying to store a calling card local access number, pin code and phone number all in one entry to call abroad, but there is not enough space. Many older models like LG, Samsung have this option. It looks like the max amount of characters on E815 is 32. Any ideas how to extend it?

I keep reading that there have been a number of software updates for the VX8100, but I've not heard of any software updates for the E815. Is that because there aren't any? Mine works perfectly. Just curious.

Well, I tried the Samsung a950. Voice Command is absolutely horrible. Two Phones: 1st kept going to text, 2nd: 'no match found'. All since Sat. Guess it now it's learning to deal with the Moto menus. How is voice command? Tried once for about 45 minutes. Not crazy about it. This is last shot from VZW for free. 😲 😲

i made my 30 second 64 kb mp3s in roxios audio central and sent them to my cell phone and for some reason im not receving them.... i used to be able to receive the wal mart ones...but now i cant receieve anything.... any answers??
