Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

My phone comes in the mail today so this may be a premature question I shouldn't be asking but........ am I able to use a TransFlash USB card reader to transfer MP3's for playback?

And is there a cost for "emailing" a ringtone to my phone?

Can we use phone tools on this phone. If so is there any special requirements.

The display message says a call is connected, but no dial tone or voice sound even after someone picks up the call and starts talking.

This problem happens a few times a week; but after turning off and on the phone, it starts working. Is this a software or a hardware problem?

I would like to have experts' advice. Thank you.

i just bought a samsung sch a850 the other day, and its not bad. i like the phone and its size and some of its features. but while dissappointed with it in some aspects, i looked thru other phones and compared it to the motorola 3815 on phonescoop and it winds up the e815 has much more to offer. better camera quality along with video, mp3, and better speakerphone. does anyone have experience with both phones that could give a recommendation of what to do? thankss

My phone has been trippin lately. I will just list a few things that has been happening.

1. The backight will just turn off, and stay black, so i can't see the screen. As of right now, i cant even see the screen on my phone. This happens constantly.

2. Restarts by itself randomly.

3. Video cam and cam are busy at times.

4. Horrible speaker..!

5. Battery life, no longer than a day, even when i barely use it.

#1 is whats really getting on my nerves though.

p.s. I mean what can i do, when the screen is unable to be looked at?! 👿 😢

does anyone know how to put mp3's on phone using USB cable. i have a usb cable, a transflash card, but i cant find where to go on my computer to put songs onto my fone.

I understand that the Razor will be comming out around the 12th. I have had my E815 for about 3 months and love it. I am considering going to the Razor but do not want to go from a great phone to a soso phone. I have read reviews of the Razor and everyone seems to love it but I have not seen a comparison of the two phones. I will be paying full price so I don't think I will have the 15 day trial period from Verizon.
Second question: How does the phone insurance work. I have a policy through Verizon with a 50 dollar deductible. If E815 should happen to get run over do I only have the choice of the same phone or can it go towards another phone such as the Razor.

Recently my 256k memory card will not store pics taken with camera phone, nor will it accept pics from computer to phone via card reader. I have tried to reformat card by inserting in phone, turning phone off, and them back on again. I have tried this numerous times with no luck. I t had been working in the past. Does anyone know of a different method to format the card, or what could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I understand the camera is 1280x1040, but any picture that I select to make my wallpaper, no matter how high I set the resolution, always looks pixelated. My V600 had half the resolution on pictures, and it looked better on the screen as wallpaper. Any way to make em look better? Or anyone else having this issue? Other than this, I love the phone.

WTF!! My phone freezes every time i try the switch storage device option. But the adapter works in my computer fine with the mini in it and i had my phone replaced and still nothin.

OK.. I hate to sound like an idiot, but I can't seem to retrieve my messages. I set up the voice mail just fine. But, now that I have some messages, I can't listen to them.

If I follow the manual instructions, I just dial into my voice mail as if I need to leave a message. How do I listen to the messages?

I want to use the Bluetooth in the 815 to download the phone book to the Bluetooth Lexus. Currently Verizon has this feature blocked. How do I mod the phone to be able to download the phone book? Has anyone sucessfully done this?

Or is there another way to do it?

Just got the E815 love it. Question, I noticed that the alarm will not sound if you have received a text message alert. Once you acknowlege the message the alarm will sound. I had a message and then answered it and the alarm went off immediately, 20 minutes late. Not good if using the phone to wake up. The alarm will sound to what ever you have it set to even with the phone set to silent. Which is good when trying to sleep and don't want to be bothered. Bad though, because the alarm won't sound until you get rid of the messaged received. Any help would be good. trying not to carry a travel alarm clock.

Is it possbile to have a three way talk on the motorola e815? Like have 3 pple on the line at once talking to each other? Please help. Thnx

I ordered the usb cable for my motorola e815 now does that allow you to put full mp3 files on it and transfer pics from the phone to the computer??

it freezes and restarts on a daily basis, text messaging is always iffy, and about 3 months ago my Get It Now just stopped working, like it wouldnt connect, i go to the store, they add the $15/month internet charge, which i DONT want, a month later i find this out and call cust service and im like, look i dont want this and i never ordered this, so they credited me $30 for the 2 months that i was charged for it, get my bill this month, and its BACK on. i used to love verizon, but they have been changing my mind in the last 6 months

I bought a Jabra C120s stereo headset last week to use with the e815 for listening to mp3s. The sound quality is great, but it's way too loud. I did the "set audio level" opcode mod, but this doesn't appear to change the volume range for an attached headset (via the 2.5mm connector). I have a choice of silent (at the lowest sound setting) to really loud at the next higher volume setting.
Any suggestions are most appreciated.

VZ Customer Service was no help, they told me to call my ISP.

Here's what I've been doing with the e815.

Select "New Pix Message"
Enter email address
Select "Insert"
Select "Picture"
Find the pic I want and hit "Select"

The "New PIX Message" details appear and shows the Msg: as a Slide Show.

When I go down to "Attachements" and prompt through selecting the picture it says the file size has exceeded the limit.
