LG VX-6100

I went to Circuit City the other day to finally purchase my LG VX6100. They told me they were out of stock and would need to be ordered. Then I was told that they were informed that they were being discontinued. Does anybody know why? I'm doing my best not to go directly to a VZW store as I've had difficulties with them in the past.

I just received the LG VX-6100 for Christmas and am familiarizing myself with its features. 😕

Apparently, the phone has some kind of pager function. How does it work? Does it have anything to do with Verizon and my calling plan?

I'm using BitPim now to synchronize Palm Desktop with my VX6100. I'm first exporting everything in PD as a vCard; works fine.

Next, I import that into BitPim -- a dialog comes up that shows me everything from the vCard file, nothing is missing.

After I dismiss that dialog, the PhoneBook tab of BitPim correctly shows all my entries. When I "send to phone", I get no errors at all and the phone contains 31 contacts. However, I originally had about 55 contacts, with the missing ones being company contacts that contained a company name in PD but NOT a first and last name -- BitPim did not write these company contacts to the phone.

I checked the Log tab, and there is an "Appending Entry" line for every contact that had first/last nam...

Looking for people's opinion on USB cables for the VX 3200/6100/7000. I've seen them from as low as $6.00 on ebay to $80.00 packaged with the Datapilot software.

Tell me what you have and what you think, so that all may benefit.

Is there any way to show the time on the external display while on the speaker phone?

i have been unsuccessful in trying to convert choped up mp3 files to .mid files and emailing them to my phone. if anyone knows how to, please let me know.

i have looked through the other mp3 ringtones forums and haven't clearly understood the directions.

Please let me know if someone is willing to explain.

I was reading the review for the lg vx6100 on cnet.com and it said "You can also change the size and the color of the display font." What? How do u do that? ....and it said " The phone has adjustable settings for white balance, brightness, and color, and it can take pictures with the flip closed." What?..it can? I didnt know that...can anyone tell me how? Thanks.

I am thinking of returning my 6100 .
The reception and sound clarity with this phone

is poor. Not to mention the volume bug and signal flucatuation issues .

My old A 310 had really good reception and sound clarity but unfortunately is broken.


I was thinking of exhanging my phone for either
the SAMSUNG A 650 OR THE LG VX 3200 .

I WAS INTERESTED IN KNOWING FROM PEOPLE WHO OWN THESE PHONES THEIR FEEDABACK ON WHICH IS BETTER IN TERMS OF SOUND CLARITY AND RECEPTION.

I REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT FEATURES I JUST WANT AN INSTRUMENT THAT CAN FUNTION AS A PHONE.

My phone never seems to show either of the indicators "A" or " D" icons though the user manual talks about then and my phones software has icon description for them .

My last phone Samsung A 310 clearly showed when the phone when from Digital to Analog .

I would expecy the phone to show the Digital Icon most of the time.

Anyone else has the problem?

Now I went tot his website www.freemobilefun.net. It says that I can save these wallpapers to my phone. So I visited the website using wap.freemobilefun.net. I did everything I was suppose to do...i put the code in and made sure that it was a 128 X 160 reso. I hit save and then it showed me the wallpaper I just saved. Then I was stuck..all I could go to next was the menu button. Is it stored somewhere in my phone that I dont know about? Can anyone help me? thanks

I try sending ringtones of mids through email, sms, and everything but all i see or hear the ringtones but it won't let me download it to my lg vx6100 phone, can u guys help me out, thks alot

Can a verizon phone be used on U.S. Cellular? 🙄

I just updated my phone using the *228 function. Before this I never had the "Verizon Wireless" print on the screen over the screen pic. Now...powering back on after the *228 update it always says "Verizon Wireless" and I noticed that when dialing it puts it under the dialed number in red. This is also new..What gives...? Is there a way to get it off again?

Please bear with me as I am a cell phone novice. I've read some threads that have suggested changing the Mode from Automatic. I went into Menu "0" and looked around in there and found that the Forced Mode options are Automatic (the default setting), Cell Only, PCS Only, CDMA and Analog. What do these mean?

Assuming I use my cell phone 99% of the time in the heavily populated (and mostly digitally equipped) NY Tri-State area (I've never seen anything but "1x" on my display), would any of the 6100's supposed problems -- RF and/or volume bug -- be alleviated by "forcing" one of the modes other than Automatic? If so, which one, and why?

Went to get 2 6100's today at my local VZ store and was told tht all VZ stores are now out of stock and will not be getting anymore till after Christmas. 😢

Has anyone been able to get an MP3 file to work as a ringtone on their 6100?

I've been able to get midi files to work. I figured out if you record a voice note, you can set that as a ringtone (so the phone is capable of paying digitized audio as a ring tone).

When I send an mp3 file to the phone though, it doesn't play. At some point i was going to try a few other audio formats (like .wav, .m4p).

Can anyone share what they've been successful doing?

While traveling in an "extended network" as shown on the face while dialing, when I push send it shows "roam". Whats happening? my carrier is verizon. Any ideas. This happened 3 times in slightly different areas. Near Moses lake Washington if that helps. Strong signal during occurrance.

Any VZW techs who know?

I've had this phone 2 weeks now and just did my first *228 roaming capabilities update (option 2 from *228 main menu) and now the words "Verizon Wireless" are underneath by banner (my first name) on my inside screen. Annoying because it's covering up a lot of my wallpaper now.

Does anyone know how to remove these words? It's not saved into my banner, only my name is.

has any one noticed their phone freezing up? im a heavy user and have started to notice the animations starting to freeze the timer on your phone calls and even when i dial a # it wont acknowledge the button untill after the fact anyone else?? thanks!!!!!!!
