Ringtone question???

Hello everyone. I just got my droid a few days a go and had a few questions.

1. how do you set a ringtone for messages you have made on ringdroid or other ringtone makers? I have custom different ringtones for different contacts on my phone when they call.

2. How do you get your pictures to stay just in one folder?

Thanks for any ideas

2.1 Update...Thank you!

So, Ohio is on the brink of going to a handsfree state for the cell phone, some big cities are already going to that. But the speech to text recognition is spot on. And the news weather widget, pretty neat. Nothing super special about the update other than the speech to text in any texting field and I love IT. Droid does speech to text. 😁

Email Question

I am using the Droid with my Windows Live POP 3 account, and I am also using TouchDown for my work Exchange account. On both of these, I have noticed that when an email gets deleted from the server, it also gets deleted from my Droid. Is there any way to change this? This is especially frustrating for my Live account, because I use Outlook at home for email and I have that set up so that it removes emails from the server when it pulls into Outlook. But when it does this, it also deletes them from my Droid. My Blackberry didn't do this - once an email was on the device, it stayed there until I deleted it from the device specifically. I would prefer to have it this way because I liked having my phone as almost like a mirror image of what I had...

Ringtone how to question

Hi All :-)

I just got the droid for my mom bc i would love for her to get it together with email/texting!

I am a blackberry user, so I know if I want to put a ringtone on my phone i can email it to myself or mms it to myself and set it from there.

I haven't hooked up her phone yet. I am just using it on wifi etc and I tried emailing a 23 second ringtone to her and it came through but it will only play it and PREVIEW it on the phone. I have no option to save or download it from the email.

Any thoughts on how to remedy this?

Thanks in advance :-D

How to save battery life on Android phones!! Must have app.

Download APNdroid from the market.

Android: When you're asleep, at an event, or otherwise indisposed, you don't need your battery-draining data connection, but you might still want to take phone calls. Free Android app APNdroid can selectively turn off your data access while allowing calls.

The app's design is a clever one, as activating APNdroid from its app button simply activates the on/off switch for GPRS, EDGE, and 3G networks, allowing you to use the APNdroid icon as a kind of widget on your Android screens. You obviously won't be able to surf the web or sync Google services while your data services are off, or send MMS messages. You will, however, have basic phone functionality, and your battery will probably live a bit longer...

voyagerboy SanDisk Now Shipping 32GB MicroSD Cards

http://sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/s ... »

This excerpt was taken from the news section of phonescoop.com

Yesterday SanDisk announced the availability of a new microSD card for mobile phones that can store up to 32GB of content. The new cards are being manufactured with third-generation 32nm X3 (3-bit-per-cell) technology. According to SanDisk, mobile network operators and handset makers are already ordering the cards, and have the option to pre-install software and/or other content for end users. Consumers can order the 32GB microSD cards directly from SanDisk's web site for $200. The 32GB microSD card will become widely available at retail outlets starting in April.

BEST APPS

What apps do you recommend to get?

Is there a limit on how many you can have on your Droid?

Where do the apps get stored?

Bluetooth Voice Commands

Even after reading the information available regarding the 2.1 update that is going to hit eventually, it says nothing about fixing the missing ability to use Bluetooth Voice Command to make a call. I can not understand how they could have forgotten or screwed up a function like that which has been available on most phones for several years, and makes this phone illegal to use while driving in many States. Anyone even heard of an App that makes this possible? I make long drives and have to use my ATT V3i while driving instead of this phone as a result. I keep 2 different accounts just for places where one or the other network doesn't work well.

Most of the other "features" sound more like new toys then anything actually important coming ...

2.1

I love the Droid, completely, totally happy with it. I've got no complaints, simply asking: Any news on the 2.1 upgrade? I know how things go, I know things get pushed back, I'm just curious, and looking forward to it.

Thanks

2.1!

Can't wait, looks very nice, from what I've seen, and heard from others who upgraded early. I hope I'm in the first batch tomorrow 🙂 post a reply if you got it, and your impressions.
