verizon 4g network and droid...?

when verizon releases their 4g network..will the droid be able to connect to it? or will we need to buy all new phones compatable wih the 4g network?

nope, sorry there is only a couple phones that are capable as of now you none are not able to be purchase cause they are demo phones... however it will work on the system to its max potential on the service. i would suspect if they drop another droid after they set up 4g aka LTE, it would have these capabilities... as of right now verizon is working on data cards aka air cards using the network as the first priority and then smartphones.

That is lame...Isn't the smart phone market 10x bigger than the air card market.

Yes, more people have smartphones than air cards. But an air card is cheaper to make, and the data plan that goes with it makes a carrier more money than a smartphone data plan. In addition, the speed boost from LTE is going to be very useful for air card users, which include a LOT of big corporate accounts. You'll see LTE phones soon, I think once some of the hardware has been optimized by the rollout of many air cards. Have patience 🙂
