Motorola Droid

Just saw something online that says there is a new droid by Motorola coming in July. The video I saw looked pretty nice. Anyone hear of it? A verizon rep confirmed it to the person....

For those of you who have tried the new Droid X, can you tell if the font size is larger than what is on the Droid??? I can change the font size on web pages on my Droid but cannot change it in emails. I need a magnifying glass to read some of them!! Dont' want the Droid X unless I can enlarge the font. Please advise.

For the first time, I took my phone to a place where data was not available...the GPS is useless and almost none of the apps that are internet dependent worked (this is in WV). My TomTom and my friend's Garmin worked just fine in the same place. I was surprised that my GPS required data. I got a message on the phone that told me there was no data reception, but I was able to call on the phone. This is only about 50 miles outside of a major metro area. This is really my first Droid disappointment (besides waiting on Froyo that is)

I can't believe I am the only person having this problem, but I often find that when I hit the "End" icon to end a call, the call will not end. In fact, I often have to pull out the battery and re-boot the phone. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution? I am ready to throw this phone away and get something else. It is really annoying, especially when I need to hang up quickly! Any suggestions for a good Android-based phone on Verizon that will work when I hit the "End" key or one that has its own hard-wired "end" button? Thanks.

Have kept looking. Haven't found anything about if and when Droid wil get 2.2. Anyone heard anything.

got a 3rd replacement droid and im still having all the same issues, and better yet i cant even use the camera now it defaults to ustream and theres no way to default it back, im leaving sitty verizon(screwuoverwireless) and going to sprint although ill still have all the same problems as i had with the existing crappy google software, im gonna do it. i pay 30 bucks a months for data, and it wont even complete one video and it cant stay connected to wifi or bluetooth, and this is my third droid. i want the apple 4g on sprint

i got my droid replaced and there was a awesome 7 dollar app i paid for called i music tao thats no longer available, it was the best app ever almost u could stream and download almost anysong right to the phone, dose anyone know how to at least get the money back ?? and dose anyone know of an app where u can download wirelessly to the phone

I went to the VZW store and the guy there said that the manufacturer's warranty does not cover battery replacement. I have had my phone less than a year and every other phone I have ever had gives a free battery within one year. Is the Droid exempt from this? I use Advanced Task Killer all the time to make sure I'm not running multiple programs and my battery is getting worse and worse. Please let me know what to do.

I know the flash update was supposed to come out in Feb. of this year but I haven't heard anything about it yet. Does anyone know if it's already out or when the new release date will be?

just had a few quick questions about the moto shadow/droid 2.. can anyone here confirm the release date? also i couldnt find this anywhere listed, WILL THIS PHONE BE 4G, and also how would i fing out when 4g is coming to my neighborhood of suffolk county long island

On my old voyager I used to be able to save sounds in a folder and attach them to outgoing messages. The only way I see how to do this on my moto droid is sending a "slideshow" and then on the menu it says "record sound". But no way to add a sound I have already recorded. I transferred sounds from my old phone and it has them in my music folder, which is OK. But can we no longer add them to an outgoing message? Maybe there is an app for that? I know I can save the old sounds as ringtones but of course you can't send those with messages. Any help would be appreciated.

I use the Email App (ever since upgrading to 2.1).

I setup 2 accounts:

1) Work - POP3
2) Personal - POP3

When I responded from my Personal email, the contact received the body of an email from my work acct. The email address was right, but the email body was wrong.

Then a week later (could have been less) I opened an email in my Personal Acct and the subject was correct, but the body was from an email that was from the work Acct.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I have had the droid for 2 months now and i just added my hotmail account to my emails app on my phone but i cant seem to view my folders in my email except for my inbox and my deleted. any thoughts?

I have another question. I am sorry for asking cause i know you guys have probably answered a hundred times...lol...but what is the app called that lets you have 7 home screens?

i havent made a post in a while so just wanted to bring everyone else up to speed on the new problems ive been having, started a new job in a new location and bammo no 3g coverage, so i call verizon and of course they say i should have no problems whaysoever of course, they lie, the bluetooth has gotten even worse if u can even imagine that, and i was experimenting with the video and woow that camera is horrible, its almost unusable and pixalates for more time then it streams, what else ohh ya all apps close and offer me repor to send which i do send and say very nasty things to designers, also my phone is overall exxxxtremly slow now and the icons wont even appear now, fun right, this has turned outt to be the worst purchase ive ever made, ...

Ok I finally bit the bullet and made a decision and ended up with the moto droid today!! I LOVE this device!

However, as I'm getting used to it I have found my first problem and thus question...

To those who have perhaps answered this a thousand times I apologize but maybe once more won't hurt?

I downloaded the widget for yahoo/yahoo IM and they both work fine. However, the preinstalled "email" widget theoretically should allow my yahoo e-mail account to be sync'd to the device without having to go through and sign in etc like I would on the android widget I downloaded. I keep getting either an error that says "cannot connect to email server" or "incorrect username/password" which I'm quite sure it's not.

So, what am I doing wro...

OK, first of all I have looked and didn’t see anything, but if I missed something I am going to apologize up front for not seeing it. But it looks like the Moto Droid will get an official Froyo 2.2 release (just not sure when). But my question is, how does the update work? Since I have only had my phone for a few weeks (and I am still a Droid newbie) I have not been though the process of updating it. Is the update something like a patch where all you need to do is install it and you are done, or will it completely wipe the phone to where you will have to reinstall all your apps? Ok, so when you hold the phone vertical, I believe this is the worst possible keyboard out there. do any input methods exist similar to the storm or incredible? where two letters are grouped together and the t9 is intuitive?

The word recognition also has been horrible...I type in bling and it gave me bangkok lol

So my boy bought a Motorola Droid a while back (2 weeks ago) and we had coffee to share apps and stuff. I taught him stuff and of course he was wow'd. He asked to use my Droid and was upset.

We noticed the keyboards were completely different. My Motorola Droid keyboard was bubbly, and his was paper flat. He said he never uses his keyboard cause of how flat it is, and I prefer to use my keyboard over the screen cause of how computer-like it is.

I saw this happened alot when I was on android forums. I got mine launch day. How did Motorola overlook this or was it changed on purpose? Just curious.

I've had my droid for a few months and I've noticed that the stock text message app doesn't always send things right away. Someone told me that they got messages from me the day after I sent something. I also noticed that even when my phone says that it hadn't sent it yet, people said that they received it. Basically, the phone is sending two messages to people, one right when I send it and one a day later when the sending icon decides to go off. This doesn't happen to everyone I text, but at random. I then got handcent messaging app which is miles better then the stock messager, but I'm having the same issue. Any thoughts??? 👀
