iPhone usage stats

I seem to be having a minor problem with the usage stats on the settings of the iPhone. If my phone needs charging, then I plug it in until it shows the plug icon that means its fully charged. When I go into the usage setting, the time doesn't get reset, rather it says "iPhone has been charged since lass full charge", and the time gets appended to. If I charge my phone for about twice as long as it takes to be fully charged, it will usually reset. Why do the settings not change when it says its fully charged?

iphod function

Strage thing started happening randomly with my iphone music player. All of a sudden in the middle of a song, it will skip to the next song. The error is specific to the song, if i try to go back and play it again, same thing. I tried restoring my phone, that didnt work, I tried re-importing it into itunes, didnt work. the only thing that worked was deleting the file, and ripping it again. I would say this error was specific to the mp3, but it happens with random songs, it seems the iphone is doing the corrupting. these songs are fine when played through itunes, the error only happens when its playing on my phone.

Has anyone else had something like this happen?

iPhone defect. failing touchscreen.

Well, my iPhone made it 30 days with minimal problems (one failed charge telling me i needed to take it in for repair when it was apparently a false alarm because it started working fine anyways, and safari crashing occationally)

On the 31st day of ownership I unplug it from my computer and toss it in my pocket to head to work. It was then that I discovered the bottom half inch of the touchscreen wasn't working.

I assume you all know how the iPhone operates, accessing the phone, internet, or ipod requires use of the bottom half inch. if you manage to get it to click on one for you, you can make your way around (except the phone unless it was left on your contacts before the glitch)

SMS requires you to tap the text entry box on th...

ARE YOU JOKING ME?

Just about every new product in consumer electronics is going to have a problem or two, and there may also be technical issues too. In this potential court case, Apple's problem is one, Jose Trujillo, who is suing Apple and seeking class-action status in a lawsuit over the iPhone. It turns out Apple "marketed it's [sic] iPhone as a 'revolutionary new mobile phone' that incorporates 'high technology'," whatever that means. Besides that, most of the substantive allegations focus on the iPhone battery, including:

* Unknown to the Plaintiff, and undisclosed to the public, prior to purchase, the iPhone is a sealed unit with it's [sic] battery soldered on the inside of the device so that it cannot be changed by the owner.
* The battery...

iPhone Urban Legends

Does anyone know why all of a sudden I am getting calls from customers saying the if you use an iPhone could cause you to get struck by lighting? Or why a customer wanted to return the phone because someone told them that if you touch the screen while drinking water you can shock yourself? I don't know if I should cry or laugh at the IQ of the general public.

iPhone Text Messaging

What cracks me up about a number of the reviews I've read is the "con" of "This phone is difficult to text with while driving, because you have to look at the screen." If you're texting while driving you, A. are a moron and B. shouldn't own a cell phone of any type.

iPhone sales reported to be a dissapointment

At 146,000 units activated, Wall Street is calling iPhone sales a dissapointed. I think that it can be seen both ways, but it is clear that iPhone hysteria has worn off and units are not moving as well as in the beginning. Does anyone think this could mean iPhone price cuts in the near future to drive lagging sales?

Love this phone !

To all the people that want to bash the iPhone, What's the point ? If you don't like the phone find a forum about a phone that you do like. Phone is a riot. Signal is Great. Happy with AT&T rates. And as for the negative sales everyone on here is talking about. http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/07/25/apple earnings/index.php
Go find another forum. If your not going to talk about something constructive, get lost. You sound like a bunch of morons. It's getting old!

Outlook Sync

I currently have the SmartPhone, but am considering the iPhone. I have read where it does sync with Outlook very well and everyone mentions email and contacts. What about Notes? I have a lot of information in the notes that I need to have with me in my PDA.

Thanks!

Awesome iPhone Punctuation-Typing Shortcut

The punctuation keys and alphabet keys appear in two different keyboard layouts.

So every time you want to type a period or a comma, it’s a three-step, awkward dance: (1) Tap the “.?123” key in the lower left to summon the punctuation layout. (2) Type the period. (3) Type the ABC key in the lower left to return to the alphabet layout.

Imagine how excruciating it is to type, for example, “a P.O. Box in the U.S.A.”! That’s 34 finger taps and 10 mode changes!

And therefore imagine how thrilled I was to receive an email from reader Andrew McCallum, containing a method of typing a period or a comma with only a SINGLE finger gesture.

The iPhone doesn’t register most key presses until you *release* your finger. But Andrew discovered t...

Are you kidding?

# Operating temperature: 32Âș to 95Âș F (0Âș to 35Âș C)
# Nonoperating temperature: -4Âș to 113Âș F (-20Âș to 45Âș C)

Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet (3000 m

That is LAME, I live a 9,100 feet, I go skiing I am at about 11,000 to 12,000 feet. WTF is that, plus on some days it reaches -2 during the day. Average is about 24 for the day here in the winter

iPhone Ring Tone Maker Application

I don't know if any of you have seen this...

www.iphoneringtonemaker.com

It's pretty neat and easy to use...even if you can do it for free. I tried it since you get 3 free ringtones with the trial. I was really hestitant on doing the other method with jailbreak, but this was real easy. I'm sure its probably using the same method but this one app does everything for you. Just thougth you guys might be interested.

Closing Apps (Actually quitting them)

I am sorry if this has been posted before. I can't find a post on it.
I learned today if you hold on to the home button for 10 seconds, it actually closes and quits the app to free up memory. So if you are in Safari and hold the home button, it will kill safari until the next time you use it.

I do this for the iPod function. Works great and phone is a lot more responsive (not that it crashes but more responsive with more available memory).
