Ive been reading all these people downgrading verizon wireless for there famous ui which i admit is getting old quick. But iPhone beware verizon wireless is getting the LG Prada. It's in testing now and expected release time is end of third quarter. Ive had the oppurtunity to check it out from a friend who is testing the device as well as ive had time with the iPhone. Dont get me wrong the iPhone is cool but the Prada's got it on UI with over the air music downloads mp3 and wma. It has stereo bluetooth, can send pix msgs, and of course voice dialing. Its 100% touch screen with a 3mp camera, expandable memory card slot up to 4gb, scrach resistant screen, removeable battery, full internet browser, able to get exchange email, gps vz navigator p...

Where in the world did you get your information? First of all the Prada in Europe is over $700 US. Second of all, with a branded phone, you can bet your butt your going to pay for the Prada name and not for the features the phone may have. The Prada is and will be a status symbol phone. If your information is correct and Verizon is going to carry the phone and it will be under $250, it will be a miracle that not even the Catholic Church has seen and the CEO of Verizon will be up for instant Sainthood. LOL

Info came from verizon wireless upper staff and it being a branded name is a name that lg has rights to. Motorola could make a phone and name it motorola gucci that doesnt mean that it will have a high price tag its just a name. LG Prada sells for alot less than $700 dollars overseas ex LG Black Label Series KE970 Shine Black Phone 4 units available $349.71. That $250 is just a projected price my opinion is right at $300. But well under iPhones $600 price tag with twice the functionality. Is your source pretty reliable? If so that sounds freaking awesome! I was just thinking if they bring that phone over here they should make sure the RAM and the processor have been beefed up to allow for more fluid movements and add the Mobile TV feature! Rev A makes sense considering the recent announcement too! Do you know if it will sync with Outlook? Any idea on bluetooth version? I already know giving LG's current line it will support A2DP. The one thing that Verizon should add to their music download line is the ability to download movies, TV shows, and other videos. Now that would be sweet!

Apple denied VZW, not the other way around. VZW wanted to cripple some of the phones features and add their UI. Cmon, its verizon! 🙄

I never trust any post or review that begins with "a friend of mine has a contact who has a friend whose first cousin ...." and that's exactly how you begin so your credibility is in doubt. However, there are professional reviews of the Prada out there and all of them criticize it's interface for being crude and awkward. Second, it uses 20 year old touch screen technology, not unlike that found in Palm or touch screen computer. Apple's interface and touch screen technology is patented and regardless of the fact Balmer's lemmings were out there last Friday buying up iphones to try to copy it ain't going to happen because it's patented. So bring the Prada on. Competition is good, assuming they can get past the injunction against Qualcomm....

First of all I just checked out the Prada and it seems to me that it runs on the GSM networks meaning it is incompatible with Verizon Wireless. It can be fould for $700 before rebates or without contract. Although it beats iphone in size, looks, apps, and much more.

This is the gsm version which was released before the Iphone. There is a cdma version in testing for Verizon, which actually has more features than the original prada.

If & when the Prada ever gets to the US, VZW might get it but will f**k it up like everything else they touch. Every phone they launch has problems, not quirks, but major problems. Remember, the iPhone is all Apple and a hell of a lot better than Windows will ever be.

The prada is here already its been in testing for 3 months already working out all those quirks. And fyi its not windows ui its lg's ui seemless functionality man dont hate until youve used it. Youll see. And last i checked att forums show allllllot more "quirks" on how to fix this and how to fix that. As far as apple yea it cool i like the phone but if you remember the ROKR that cingular released with iPod ui it didnt last for 6 months only phone in any carriers history that had more returned untis that sold units. Att doesnt test phones to the extent that vzw does. So its not if and when that prada coming to usa its here and its Rev A EVDO cdma. So enjoy your iPhone cause att will flop when this phone comes out and you wont be able to use...

Golly gee, its been in testing 3 months! Plenty of time to make a pretty cover for it, or some cool accessories.
The iPhone was in production and testing for 2 YEARS before they finally tested the final version. Add 200 patents to that, and you have a well made device.
As for the ROKR, obviously not much testing done with that, but we all know one thing, dont buy a first gen apple product. The ROKR was a poor attempt to put JUST ITUNES on a phone, apple was new to the phone business at the time.

Have you even seen the PRADA in person? That's just dumb as saying the iPhone sucks until you actually get to play with it. I'll admit, when I first saw the iPhone I thought, man that's an ok looking phone but the whole touch thing will probably suck. I checked it out and I'm very impressed with how well everything on it works. The only real downfall is the on screen QWERTY keyboard but even that shortcoming is worth looking over for everything else it lacks. For me personally, 3G or not really doesn't matter since it has wi-fi. I really would only plan on using some of the email functions and occasional web surfing while on the go and their are plenty of places with wi-fi now. A phone is only as good as the provider software lets it be. I have been with VZW for 10 years, only because Cingy/ATT is worse. I recently tried the Nokia N75, but after the Bluetooth blew out the second phone, I returned it. They are more stupid than VZW, no tech support, no insurance and they charge you for every little thing. Insisted I HAD to carry the more expensive data plan, for the phone to work right. I love the iPhone but will never get it under ATT.

The Prada is only one of many phones VZ is looking into. Whatever they decide to go with you can bet the bank on one thing. It will come with subsidies and be cheap to buy. Just like the Blackberries cost over $500 retail, you can buy them for $59 or less with new service. So maybe the Prada does cost $700 in europe but no phone in europe comes with subsidies. You buy your phone in a phone only store and your service from a carrier only store.
