How I want to note the order...
by Nikoletta    Sep 30, 2007, 12:18 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

I want to write... Customer is an idiot. Customer could not be bothered to read the error message when he placed the order. Error message advised customer to call our department in the morning (since the order was placed at midnight) to complete the order. Customer instead chose to try placing the order again, and rcvd the same message. Customer again was too stupid to read the message and placed a third order. Customer is angry because he only wanted one phone and wants orders canceled. Advised we cannot cancel orders once they are showing complete status. Customer threw a temper tantrum and demanded a supervisor. Warned supervisor that this customer is an idiot.

Don't you know a supervisor has access to magic, and therefore can cancel those orders? They can just wave their magic wands an... oh wait... I'm thinking of Pixies. Never mind.

Oh good... this is why I am a Druid, they can never draft me as a wizard since my magic goes toward plants and animals and stuff, not cell phones.

Yes! But what games do you have on the phone! The best thing to do is go to memory card under settings and back up all data to memory card. But you will still have quickoffice and all orginal applications once your phone is updated. One other note...the gallery application is much faster.

This may make me an idiot, but I would assume that if I got an Error message when trying to complete an order that said to contact customer care, I would not have completed the order. That the error would render it incomplete and thus not fear having to call customer care. It seems odd to complete an order for someone of there is no paper trail or confirmation receipt. Is there no Confirmation Email? I would call it a poor business practice to complete the order on you companies side. Not that I think it is your fault, just lame on the carriers side.

He confirmed that he wanted it when he pressed the place order button. Instead of just replacing the order he should have followed the instructions on the screen, which told him to call in to complete his order... NOT to place another one and hope the message went away. He was given all the instructions he needed to avoid the problem entirely and chose to ignore them. The Verifications dept finalized the order under the assumption that he was paying attention when he placed the orders since we get a very large volume of people placing multiple orders for the same pre-paid phones since the price is good.

You are proving the point you just said call in to COMPLETE the order. So why did you all send him phones since he obviously didn't call in to COMPLETE the order? Wouldn't COMPLETING the order be necessary in order to send the fool a bunch of phones? I can't call the guy an idiot computer glitches happen all the time. I'd be more likely to retry it if I got an error which you have said at least twice could not be completed. I have to side with the customer on this one.
