On a lighter note...

I had a man in his 50's come in and said that his wife (who was a realtor, they always have to get that in there, as if that is going to open a whole new world of discounts for them) had sent him in to get some information on Blueberries. /;| I looked at him confused for a second, smiled and asked "Bluetooth or Blackberry?" He says "Awe hell dont make me go ask my wife again!" We figured it out it just made me smile! :D

Without obex/object exchange or similar you CANNOT send things via bluetooth. Not to another phone, computer, or any bluetooth device. This is not just a phone to phone issue. Many people think that is locked down and that is why some people b*tch about verizon. It is verizon's choice to make, they are allowed, but people are going to complain about it. If you check out verizon wireless for the phone details on the 8600 you see you can only send vcards via bluetooth and nothing else. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/contr oller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selec tedPhoneId=2686 * Bluetooth Capable (v1.1) –supports headset, hands-free, advanced audio distribution, serial port, dial-up networking, file transfer, audio/video remote control, object push profiles for vCard * Bluetooth Stereo Headset Support for Listening to Music * Send vCard to another Bluetooth Device If you look at this pdf http://support.vzw.com/pdf/BT_Chart_Handsets.pdf and you scroll down to "7. file movement" you see N for every single handset verizon has. No verizon handsets allow you to send or receive files. Note: file transfer does not mean synching your contacts and data but sending pix, sounds, etc.

Re: New phone once per year?
by LordObento    Nov 30, 2006, 7:54 PM

artax80 said: In order to be eligible to upgrade every year you have to meet certain criteria: 1) Your account must be registered online, 2) You must sign a new one or two year contract on or after November 16, 2006, 3) You must be on a price plan of $49.99 or higher, and 4) There is a $20 early upgrade fee. If you're contract will hit the one year mark in April, you are not eligible for this program. The earliest anyone will be able to do this will be November 16 of next year. Hope this explains everything. The Early Upgrade Policy has always been in effect for all customers w/ $49.99+ price plans prior to the Nov 16th, 2006 date, it's just that the system/website could not process early upgrades before and people had to go into the store to do this. As of Nov 16th, the site can now do that. So.... Must be on a $49.99 per a month calling plan or higher, must complete 12 months of a 2 year contract, pay 2 yr discount price w/ $20 processing fee w/ new 2 yr agreement. Note: Secondary lines on FS Plans do not apply, only Prime line that meet the above criteria

Re: SprintNextel hybrid phone poll

to Note... the majority of the Sprint PCS market is covered under 1900Mhz formatting... 800Mhz is typically for low market level coverage (the boonies as some might call it) and is purely Analog... to say it would give better coverage if the hybrid had 800Mhz coverage would be like saying the Razr would be better if it was bigger and bulkier... and had an antenna

as a Note... there are not Nextel contracts... if you sign up for the hybrid phone you are signing to SPRINT Nextel, not Nextel... as an entity, Nextel is gone.. absorbed.. "this bird is NO MO" (to quote Monty Python)... IF you have a current Sprint PCS phone you can UPGRADE to a Hybrid CDMA/iDEN phone (thus the hybrid portion) and renew your contract with Sprint.. YOU WILL have to be moved from the old billing system to the newer version (which will be happening in the near future for all PCS customers anyway), but you will (again) be signed on with Sprint Nextel, not one or the other...
