Re: STUPID Questions about Mobile Web...

As far as I know, the only way you will be able to see html code on the web is with one of the PDA devices. As far as the phones go, your right...it's text only. I agree...very dissapointing. Can take a picture in 1026X768 resolution, yet can't see simple graphics on web sites. As for your "Untrusted Certificate" error, while your in mobile web, go into the settings of it on the phone, and clear out your cookies, restart the browser, and try the site again. Can't promise this will fix it, but it's a step in the right direction. I'd say call tech support, but unless you get to talk to a tier 2 or 3, you'll be wasting your time. As far as the picture online question, again this would be a no too. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but being in the fact that the phone can't see the graphics on web pages, bet your buck that you can't download images either. Interesting side note....with our PDA's, you can see links on web pages. Now on your computer, you have the option to "right click a link and save target as"...which you would do if you were trying to download something or save a picture. On a pda, regardless of platform...be it windows or the palm OS, there is no such ability. You can't "right click" anything. Things that make you go hmmm......treo 700. Mobile windows platform...latest and greatest platform for a pda....no right click. Think about that....and you wonder why you can't save a picture from a web site on your phone?

and I'm sure that if he called into a Cingular call center or went into a Cingular dealer, that they would treat him with the respect and concern he deserves. he is, however, asking on a forum that is filled with people who need somewhere to be besides whatever call-center or store they are stuck in. he is bound to get a candid response rather than the common professional ass-wiping they are required to give as a representative of Cingular Wireless. On a side note.....mmcnier has been on this site a while. I know he knows about the insurance and what can or cannot be done. I think he's just asking as a last hope, but alas, there isn't one. plooky.....your contempt for everyone and everything on these forums never ceases to amaze me. why do you come on here?

wolfspider73 said: Corporate communications are still extremely disjointed, unclear and in some cases, lack specificity. I have long railed against Cingular's ability to issue clear, concise and complete directives as it relates to new initiatives, the recent VIP enhancements being a perfect example. Ambiguous propaganda will not help confused care reps provide stellar customer service. This is the best part, I think. I've been saying this stuff since I first laid eyes on CIQ/CSP. Not all carriers have such a crappy information portal, and I really believe that with something much better, Cingular's satisfaction numbers would improve dramatically. Note to the Cingular suits (Sigman, et al): spend about $10 million (or about three HOURS gross income) on revamping CSP from the ground up. Hint: contract someone who knows what they are doing -- don't just throw money at the problem.
