Every company has their supporters and detractors
Just my .02 cents
Verizon's main fallability that I've experienced is unreliable billing in certain areas, exacerbated by micromanagement & red tape in the way of resolving the issues. Seen many customers over the years with totally screwed up bills - who could not get anything corrected without raising total heck...
Now about the UI...No it's not the greatest looking UI i've ever seen myself and the main thing that turned me off is that it took away the Personality of the Phones, but It really has nothing to do with Verizon wanting to control everything....I't more about simplicity If a customer Swithes from One phone to another of a different manufactor they don't have to go through the trouble of learning a whole new interface and if you've really taken the time to check out the RAZAR You'd see that although the UI is in Verizon's format getting around in it is No different than any other Motorola. Now don't get me wrong I'm no big fan of the UI myself because as a sales rep It...

wrong
I've been lurking around some time and note how often the UI seems to be an issue for people. It must be something awful...
Then I got the 8100.
That's what you people are complaining about? That's it??
From what I read, I expected to see a wallpaper dislay area the size of a stamp and when I fired it up, even the outer display had more area than my old a670.
The UI just is not that bad.
Those that think that Verizon is taking control of everything probably are mad that you pay for songs on Napster. Yet, wouldn't peep a second about Apple/OSX and proprietary systems.
It's a menu button for cry eye.
I guess some people want more control of their phone however--the freedom to make even the menu look, structure different than a friend who might have the same one.
Oh well... can't please everyone.
and no company will ever please everyone. Best thing to do, if you dont like it, leave, if enough leave over something, then a company will listen.

I do miss the alarm feature LG had on some of their other phones, being able to simply set a 10 min alarm quickly was nice, .
That was an option you use to have, but verizon has stripped away that choice for you. You know longer have any choice. Red bars for life no verity. Verizon continues to strip amd control your handset a litlle at time.
Obviously there arent enough nerds or geeks or cell phone junkies out there who let Verizon know or I am sure they would make some comprimises for you.
I, along with tens of millions of other customers are perfectly happy with Verizon and its standard UI.
Carry On!
This one sounds like one for Cindy Sheehan. You should give her a call and go have a good old fashion sit down until Verizon CEO comes out to explain this one to you. Best of luck we are all rooting for you. 🤣
-Verizon
Before you do so, you do realize that it will void your warranty. I don't mean that in a mean spirited way but you understand that if something goes wrong with the phone or even a UI switch over, you will have no technical help from Verizon nor the manufacturer. Again, not intending to be a pill but wanted to make sure that your decision, when the time comes, is fully informed.
I stayed up half the night but I now have the Motorola ui on my Motorola phone. I'm really not sure why the red bars drove me so nuts, I just didn't like the red its not a very soothing color. I have put my favorite surfing wallpaper on and feel much better. If anyone wants to do the same follow the link and feel free to email me if you have any question, I will be more then happy to help. I have object push and verizons quality service, I'm GOOD TO GO 🙂
But i dont have the RAZR.

Red bar's dont bother me.. then again I have a red themed background that kinda blends in with it when I flip open the phone 🙂
But i dont have the RAZR.
yep, me too. I have a nice Marine Corps emblem that blends right in. I do hope in the future they give us at least a half dozen color choices though 😁
