motorola v710 disable viewable phone number

I just bought the motorola v710 phone provider with verizon. I love the phone except for one thing. Is there any way to turn off the phone number when I turn on the phone. When I have the phone off then turn it on I get my greeting that I setup but I also noticed that my phone number appears then goes away . Is there anyway to disable the number from appearing. I tried to take off the greeting but it didn't help
Thanks
Rob

Awesome concept phone "Helix" to be shown at 3GSM next week

British design firm PDD announced today their concept "Helix" will be shown at the 3GSM world congress next week in Cannes. It looks just stunning. In an interview w/ Mobilemag.com, they said that by the end of 2006-07 this phone could have a 20 Gig microdrive w/ a 5 MP camera. The really cool thing about this design is the 180* hinged display that flips around when opening. So when the flip phone is closed the screen is automatically facing out and when you open it up it is facing in. OLED display too. the outside has dedicated MP3 player interface too. Check out the website.

Watch out for viruses that spread to mobile phones

http://reuters.myway.com/article/20050209/2005-02-09 ... »

I hope there exists adequate virus protection for the phones email, text messaging and web browsing.

I wonder if Ad-Aware type software can run on phones?

GSM

Hey, just a question here... Do Verizon and Sprint have any intention of switching to GSM? I think I've heard that they wont do it, but why?

N-gage demo question

My store has an N-gage QD demonstration device left over from the HUGE standup display that we no longer keep in store. It's great to have around the store as a "passthetimeonslowdays" device.

My question is this: Is there a way to enable the normal functionality of this phone, or is it locked in demo mode forever? (being locked in demo mode effectively makes it useless since Cingular's discontinuing it soon) I have a co-worker who has an account, but no phone. We'd like for him to be able to use the N-gage instead of pulling phones from the inventory to use until his allpromoto prize comes in.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Tethering...

is there a way to trick the carriers and use a phone as a modem for a laptop or pda and circumvent the exuberant charges for net access, specifically GSM EDGE, or how do they know whether any net connection is tethered or just plain WAP directly from the phone??/ basically cingular offers unlimited Internet express access for $20- yet unlimited data access is $80, there must be a way people... there must be a way....

Is Sprextel going to Wimax?

They have joined the Wimax forum, and are abandoning iDen. Seems like a logical choice to me, but isn't jumping to a 4G technology a little risky? 😳

wi-fi vs wireless internet

I notice that on the Motorola mpx220 there is wireless internet, and on the Motorola mpx there is wireless internet AND wi-fi. Could someone explain the difference, and how those options would be important.

Mac OS for cell phones?

There are alot of phones out there with Windows OS. I'm wondering if there are any plans by any phone manufacturer and Apple to release a phone that has Mac OS?

I've heard of some iPhone, but from what I've heard and read, it's onyl supposed to incorporate iTunes. Anyone have any inside info on this? Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth Speakerphone

I think it'd be pretty neat if there was a Bluetooth program for computers that when a call came in, it allowed the user to take the call through his computer, the computer acting as a speaker phone. Or like a wireless earpiece works. Is there such a thing?

If not, it'd be cool to have something like that. At least I think so.

Have some pretty good design ideas for them as well. Wish i knew the right people. Could we maybe see something at the 3GSM or CTIA confrencees?

Is Motorola A630 allright??

I am planning on switching from Sprint to either T-mobile or Cingular...and looking for a nice phone.

I narrowed it down to motorola A630 (t mobile) and Rajor V3(cingular)

Not sure if it's worth to spend around 300 buks to get a cool looking phone Rajor V3 or to get A630 with all the features and extra minutes and good service with tmobile...

any opinions on A360?? It's on sale at Amazon and you make 30 buks with one year service plan..

thanks
