Large numeric display

Hello all.

I hope that I am not posting in the wrong section.

I am still using a Sony Ericsson T-610 and think that it's time for a change.

Seeing as my eyesight is beginning to fail me, i really need a phone that can display large numeric characters when I input the desired outbound number as well as when I receive an inbound call.

Sounds like a tall order I suppose.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Which new VZ phone?

Can anyone help me out here? I am trying to decide between the following phones:

LG VX8700 and LG VX8600

I am also considering the Motorola RAZRV9m and LG VX9400, but am leaning towards the first two.

Any pros or cons would be greatly appreciated. I've read many reviews and looked at the phones in the store, but am still torn.

Thanks!

VZW Blackberry Picture Messaging

In my quest for a new VZW Blackberry I have been testing network functionality.

I am concerned that the Blackberry makes you log into a website to view pictures and videos on VZW.

AT&T's network allows pictures to come right through to the handset. I asked a VZW sales associate why this was and he said because Blackberry is a business device and camera phones are banned in most Govt facilities. He claimed that viewing the pictures and videos directly to the handset is a security feature added by VZW.

Does anyone know if this is true or just a flaw? A different VZW store told me the new phones will have direct access to pics and video messaging through Get it Now.

Secondly AT&T offers PPT service on the Blackberry. There system us...

New Verizon phones

I have read about the imminent release of the Treo 755 and the VX6800, by Verizon, in this an other forums. What I find perplexing is that no one at either their local retail outlets or their national customer service centers have any ideas as to what these phones are or when the may be released.

Having been with Verizon for years I am hesitant to switch to Sprint, however, they seem to be bring new products to market where as Verizon seems to be marketing to V-Cast users.

How can one found out, with some accuracy, when Verizon will be releasing more contemporary PDA's.

Thanks

documents

Hi. Can anyone tell me if it is possible for a cell phone to let me read text documents?

For example, if I had an ebook stored on a chip, how can I get my phone to let me read it off the chip?

I have a Nokia 6265i.

Thanks

Press Release - Text2Scream for Halloween

Hopefully this is the correct forum. Thought the community here would get a kick out of this.

A haunted theme park near Philadelphia (Shocktoberfest) has new attractions that you control via your mobile phone (java applet). Sounds pretty hot, personally I'd love to launch a demon from a tree at other idiots in line who don't shut up. Now if only I could do the same in a movie theater...

Need simple phone and simple plan for Sr Citizen mom

My mom joined Cingular and got a cheap LG phone a couple years back just to have an emergency phone.
She has never set up her voicemail (doesn't know how and wouldn't know how to retrieve it if I did it for her)
Her plan expired this past December and has been looking for a simpler phone with fewer minutes. She prefers to use her home phone for Long distance and I got her on a economical plan so usage of her cell phone for long distance would no longer be required to save money.

Is there a plan (with a reputable carrier) that has an easy to operate (or at least easy to explain to her) with a low end phone usage plan and of course free usage of 911 and maybe 2 or 3 people?

Samsung Blackjack Windows Mobile 6

Hi guys,

I have a Blackjack and was just about to upgrade to WM 6.0 via the leaked ROM available online, when it was revealed that the official ROM will be available September 17. Should I wait for the official one? If I upgrade via leaked ROM, will I be able to upgrade again tot the official one when it comes out?

Any thoughts?

Whats everone think of UMA devices

I just got done writing a reply in the T-Mobile forum about a possible uma enabled Curve and it got me thinking about uma devices in general.

I currently work for Cincy Bell, which supports uma, but I really haven't seen a big response from the general public to get uma. Most common people just don't seem to care about it at all, and Bell doesn't even charge for it on some plans, it's FREE for life.

I've used the Nokia 6086 with uma enabled and I wasn't unpressed at all. I truly believe the call quality went down severely while connected , my the calls dropped at least 50% of the time.

I want to know what everyone else thinks about these devices in general.

PLEASE RESPOND!!!! 😁

Hey Guys... Working on an IMS project and would like to have mobile DID's match the main DID in the company PBXs...

Is there a way on any service (GSM or CDMA) to control your outbound DID (within the US)... specifically from the handset...
