View Options question - and maybe a couple more.

Ok, I use the Threads with top replies and to me that seems the most user-friendly option. What I'm wanting is the threads with the most most recent reply on top (I have that option picked also, btw) but I was imagining that what the layout would be was the main person's question with all replies below- not just the links to their replies.

I've been having to, in order to read their response - Hit the back key, click the next response, hit the back key, click the next response, and so on and so on. Is there an easier way to read all responses?

Also, is there a way to make the max reply count be larger than 8? Why is there a none choice on the Threads with recent replies and not one on with Top replies? Am I missing it?

What really i...

GlobalStar

Has there ever been any consideration to including Globalstar in the carriers section or perhaps a Globalstar forum? I work for a dealer that carries Globalstar and sometimes I'd like to discuss or ask questions regarding services, and look up specifics online. Even the Globalstarusa.com website can be rather vague sometimes. Just a thought

What do y'all think of Amp'd mobile??

Hey, I saw the now infamous "hooker" Amp'd ad yesterday...and I have to say I'm really quite intrigued. I went to their website, and it gave me some idea about what sort of content they're going to provide. I really like the look of phones, and I hear they're going to be only about Has anyone heard anything? Have ads started hitting the air?? Are the phones still supposed to come out this year?

I had a suggestion about phone reviews.

Why dont we rate phone reviews by carrier because each carrier has different software for the phone. So it can act differently for each carrier because I think its unfair to rate a phone from all carrier because of different outcomes of how the software works on the phone.

Popups?

Has phonescoop initiated some type of popups every so often while surfing the site or do I need to scan my system for some adware/spyware?

Nice Phone Reviews

Rich/Eric,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the reviews of both the Motorola e815 as well as the LG VX-8100. They are hands down the most detailed and complete reviews of either that I have found. My compliments.

I do, however, have one question: Based on knowing that you have used both phones, and your reviews didn't seem that you were completely sold on either phone, which would you recommend more highly?

Thanks and keep up the GREAT work on these reviews,
Shawn

Rich, Why are phones posted late?

Rich/Eric,
It seems that lately phones don't appear listed on phonescoop until they are a day or 2 from release, or already released, even when there has been a news article posted regarding them. Case in point: The RAZR information about the V3i and the V3c was posted as a news story, linking the specs on Moto's website on Nov 8th (or so). But there is no actual phone listing for either.

Why are we not getting to have forums for these upcoming phones until they are released anymore? I remember being able to chat in a forum about an upcoming phone for months before it was released. Is something preventing you from posting the specs earlier than the date of actual release?

I only ask this because the anticipation for the RAZR V3...

"In Depth"

We've just launched a slight re-tooling of our feature articles section. Nothing of substance has changed, really, but I wanted to explain it for the curious...

We put a lot of effort into our feature articles, which include extensive phone reviews, event reports (many requiring overseas travel), or just heavily-researched articles on relevant industry topics.

However, we've received a lot of feedback from people that tells us the articles have not been promoted or organized well. Many people weren't aware we did them, and even when they looked, they had trouble finding them.

So we've done two things today:

  1. The old "Feature Articles" section has been renamed "In Depth". The old title was borderline journalism jargon that

Forum Suggestion

This may have been suggested before and I'm not even sure if it's possible.
Is there anyway to "iggy" people? I know we can ignore posts and choose not to read them, but not having to look at certain peoples/trolls numerous posts would definately make it easier for me to find relevant posts that actually matter.
Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Rich, you might know...

I have a Motorola i760 and was wondering about the firmware updates that Motorola offers on their website. My phone indicates it uses: R3E.00.00 and its model is an i760-A

On Motorola's iDEN portal they have ver: R01.00.00 for model i760 that you can d/l and USB data cable over to the phone.

How can you find out which is newer w/o calling Sprint or Motorola?
