totally serious site suggestion

you guys should start including in your phone reviews:

awesomeness factor: (example the razr would get a rating of 8 here.) this of course would be relative to the number of people that have it (silver razr:3, verizon pink razr:😎.

% chance of getting laid: anything from HTC would get around a 60% here.

% chance of getting kicked in the groin: anything from kyocera would get around a 60% here.

how long until it is lame: this i don't know how to do, but i don't run a phone site.

you would be doing your readers a disservice by not doing these things.

the mike has spoken!

This site has lost a lot of what it had

Maybe you've forgoten but this site used to be the first to know, the first to share, and the most comprehensive/reliable site. Now, I dont even know why I come here.

For example: Samsung sch-a645 and sch-a870 are phones for Verizon that are all over the web and will be released soon for Verizon Wireless. And yet they are NOWHERE at all on your site. I know you know about the phones::

The only two reasons I can see why you havn't posted anything is because, A. This site has become too big and you're more swayed by the big guys. or B. You feel like theres not enough information out there to put up on this site. (So what, I'd rather know a little than nothing.)

In conclusion, pleaaase turn this site around to find the whole...

Feedback: Forums?

You guys ever consider updating your forums to something a bit more say.. modern? Your forum system and layout is the worst i have ever encountered on the net and navigating it is a complete joke. Other than that, great site 🙂.

I have the Samsung Sph-920. I purchase a new Transflash Card (256MB) and a Sandisk Mobile Card Reader/Writer in able to transfer music from my PC to the Mobile Phone. However I cannot seem to get it to work. I contacted Sprint and they state that I have to format the new Transflash Card. Does anyone know how to do this?

New: Phone Scoop Toolbar & more

We just added a new page to the site called "Site Tools". It contains info on a number of alternate ways to access and keeps tabs on the site, including RSS feeds, a search plug-in, and the WAP version of the site.

https://www.phonescoop.com/site/tools.php »

But the big new addition is the Phone Scoop Toolbar, a full-featured browser toolbar for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. It has a lot of cool features that are definitely worth checking out.

It's beta. That doesn't mean it's buggy, just that we're not finished tweaking it yet. For that, we need your help. Please give it a try, and let us know what you think, and if you have any feedback or suggestions.

We also tweaked the way RSS feeds are displayed, and added easy l...

Phonescoop News:
Jitterbug MVNO Targets Seniors
Wednesday, 7:15 PM source: Wall Street Journal / Samsung

GreatCall Inc. today launched a new MVNO service called Jitterbug targeted at older users. The service will launch with a special phone designed in cooperation with Samsung. The Samsung A120 features a simple design and UI, oversize buttons and graphics, and a cushioned cup around the earpiece to improve sound quality in noisy environments. To make the experience easier for users transitioning from landlines, the phone even makes a dial tone sound when opened. The phone also features one-touch access to an operator. Plans are expected to start as low as $10 per month, with $25/month being an average plan. The

About the Alltel info-

I was reading the description about Alltel, in the Carrier section of the website. It says

"Alltel is a large regional CDMA carrier offering service in 33 states, primarily in the south, mid west, and west. In 2005, the company acquired Western Wireless, a smaller carrier that operated under the Cellular One brand with service in 19 western states.

Coverage Area: Southeast and Midwest"

It is my understanding that Alltel offer nationwide coverage. I actually sell Alltel, along with a few other carriers, and I sell nationwide plans all the time. Which leads me to my question,

Why does it say "Coverage Area: Southeast and Midwest", and not nationwide?

Just curious really.

Thanks

Suggestion for Phonescoop

Are there any plans to begin including pc cards into the site?

There are at least a few for each carrier, and it would help when trying to buy one if we're able to compare them.

Phone Descriptions

Hello,

I am a phone wholesaler, I am currently working on a website of mine and I saw your copy rights which state, "Text, images and all other content on this site may not be copied or republished in any way without formal permission." I need phone descriptions for my website. So I was wondering if I would be able to get the permission to use your phone description. I would state on my website beside my copy rights that "Phone Description provided by PhoneScoop?

New: Feature Ungroup

A while back we changed the way features are listed to be grouped into categories.

I don't think anyone really asked for it, but in case anyone liked the old way better, there's now an "ungroup" link at the top of the feature list on spec pages.

I thought that option might be helpful, in case you're looking for a specific feature but have trouble finding it by group.
