Forums have lost their value.

The forums original intent was to inform us about the industry, plus it was a place where consumers came to find info. Now when I look on the forums I see.

-Flame Wars,
-Trash,
-Sexual content
-Flame wars
-Trolls
-Sexual Content
-Idiotic Rants
-Trolls
-Sexual Content
-and endless messages about T-Mobile Versus Sprint, Cingular vs. Verizon etc.

I say shut the forums down because it is hurting phonescoop's credibility. if people have questions they can email moderators.

Phonescoop Phone Profiles

When PhoneScoop doesn't have data for a field, for instance a dash next to the MMS field when you click hide missing features

MMS -

does this mean the the phone is NOT MMS enabled, or that PhoneScoop couldn't find the data?

concept phones

i think it would be pretty sweet if you put a page together that linked to all the concept phones from one page. i was going through phones cause i was bored, and ran across the watch phone, and was like...

'woah! what other cool concept phones are there??',

and then i quit looking for them because i didn't want to go through all the phones.

anyway. that's my two cents.

site update: compare recent phones

We've added a small tweak to the side-by-side compare feature here on phonescoop.com.

It now remembers the last few phones you've looked at, and lets you add those to the compare list with one click, instead of having to search for each one by model name.

We've also used the same functionality to enable the compare feature to work for browsers without JavaScript, or with JavaScript turned off.

Please let us know if you run into any glitches with this, or have ideas for improvements. Thanks! 🙂

Would be great if......

Verizon offered/allowed for auction a phone for any charity. Even an unlocked CDMA phone. ☚ī¸ Sorry that I couldn't help in any of the auctions, good luck and good bidding to everyone bidding on the phones!

Auctions are CLOSED

thanks to all who participated. it looks like we raised at least $1420, which means that with 7 phones, you raised the equivalent of 83 RED RAZRs for the Global Fund.

we will be sending out emails to all the winners in just a moment with donation instructions. when we receive confirmation that each winner has made his or her donation, we will post a final list here. if a winner does not complete the transaction, we will notify the next highest bidder who posted before the deadline.

to those bidders who bid something higher than the winning price, but did so after the 1pm EST cutoff, i'm sorry. i realize using our forum system is not is accurate as ebay or anything. but when we do it this way, no one gets any money except for the chari...

Suggestion: post counts

I would love if it showed the total number of forum posts and/or phone reviews next to peoples names in the forums/phone reviews.

Auction guidelines

  1. Please put the dollar amount in the subject line.
  2. Please bid by replying to the top message for that phone, (the message Eric posted,) not the bid you're trying to beat.

Thanks! 🙂
