so im here in cali were there is an outtage so i cant text message ...dissapointed with nextel, this has been the third day in a row, evey since i got nextel they have long delays with messaging. even thought of buying out my contract. nextel 18 is it going to get better or not? with the messaging? my sound dumb but i text alot.

When I reactivated with Mextel I overheard the store reps discussing with another customer Nextel may soon be offering broadband style speeds using the phone as a modem. This leads me to a couple of questions.

A) Is this actually on the horizon?

B) Is there a publically released date this may launch?

C) If this gonna cost out the prverbial butt?

i have heard rumors nextel will release/unlock the HTML web viewer on the 7520 blackberry finally, with the os 4.0 upgrade on april 1st.

can u confirm?

anybody know of any new phones and release dates for them?

Im openning a Nextel authorized dealership and im wondering if anyone knows of a software I can download to manange ringtones to download into a customers phone using a data cable?

I'm curiuos to see others thoughts, It has been proven tha Iden is the supperior PTT technology, i'm using VZW's Phase two and can't complain, yet I KNOW it isn't as quick initially. I'm wondering when the merger of sextel finally completes and the transition from Iden to Qchat occurs, do you think there will be a larger delay(probably not by much), but seeing how all other PTT clients work over CDMA i'm wondering if the excellent quality of Iden will be a thing of the past eventually?? Sort of how some people say that analog phones by far and away were way better for voice than digital service. But obviously was limited as far as digital features are concerned. Will all PTT subscribers onbe day just have to get used to POC type technolo...

Ok - I am switching to Nextel (from Verizon) for work reasons. I know legally you may not be able to say when new phones and new plans are coming out (or maybe you can...) but if not...is now a stupid time to switch? When is a smarter time?

does anyone know when the new nextel phones are gonna be released? i keep hearing there are 5 that are suppose to be released this month. anyone know?? i also heard the prices on these phones are gonna be outrageous?

Any word on when Sprint/Nextel will be launching EV DO Rev O and then Rev A? There was confirmaton at CTIA that Nortel was going to be launching Rev A trials on VZW networks in 2006 but I haven't heard anything yet about Sprint/Nextel. This can be found at Wirelessweek.com in the March 15th news regarding CTIA.

"Nextel itself has purchased exclusive rights to a CDMA 1X VoIP solution from Qualcomm, known as Qchat, even though the company has yet to announce any intentions to migrate to a CDMA-based 3G technology. Nextel reports that it is working hard to get Qchat to reach call set-up delays of less than three seconds, according to a recent research report from Merrill Lynch. Nextel officials insist that three seconds is the minimum latency acceptable."

(fyi, nextel said at the conference call as well as i reported from the CTIA it was 1.5 seconds)

anyone else see them?

I have a customer here who wants to port their number from Nextel to Cingular. Problem is he was under the impression that his Nextel service would have to be disconnected first so he disconnected his service yesterday and today he is on here wanting to keep his number. Nextel says they will not breifly turn it on without him having to pay a month of service. Is this policy or should we keep fighting for the number without fee?

When the merger is finalized in mid-2005 or whenever, will customers of Nextel (for wireless) and Sprint (for wireline) be able to get integrated billing???

i pesonally like the new number layout on the new phones..compared to my i860, i might downgrade a little and get the i850. andbody agree?? 😁 mainly beacuse i am not to pleased with my i860..the high end phone doesnt compare to other carriers..ill just get the i850 and wait till the i930 drops are the upgrade to that.
