This will occur over the next 2 to 3 years as the spectrum is shuffled. The current plan by region is the following:

Region 1 - West Coast of US and NY areas
Region 2 - Mid-West and rest of the NE
Region 3 - Southeast US
Region 4 - Bordering areas of Canada & Mexico

When will this happen and what are the biggest changes that will take affect?

i dont know if this has been asked or but, but my question is that since the merger of Nextel/Sprint...would the nextel customers be able to use thier SIM cards on the PTT sprint phones?

I'm looking to expand my career as a sales associate working at a Nextel direct store. Are there any employees here in the Houston area? If so, I'm asking if there are any positions open in that area. I have experience in the wireless industry. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Bear Stearns expects "solid" first-quarter net additions for Nextel Communications (nasdaq: NXTL - news - people ) and Sprint (nyse: FON - news - people ) and raised the price target on Nextel Partners (nasdaq: NXTL - news - people ). Bear Stearns said, "While slower than the second-half 2004 rate, we estimate that Nextel Communications will still add over 475,000 core customers in the first quarter and Sprint, over 420,000." The research firm lowered the core average revenue per unit (ARPU) estimate for Nextel communications to $67 from $68 to account for the company's "typical seasonal reduction in ARPU."

well it seems nextel has adopted sprints low deposite policy. actually nextels is double the price at $250.00. with this lowered deposite, alot of teens and hip hop heads are getting nextel now, and i dont mean boost. nextel used to be the hardest company to pass credit with. now with this new "spending limit" program every little ja-rule wanna be is getting nextel. all u here at the mall on saturdays is people chirping each other.

What is the catch with getting a phone from a place like letstalk.com?
For example - they offer the i860 for 99.99 after a rebate with the same monthly plan prices...
Why should someone buy from nextel? What is the catch with buying it from letstalk.com?
