Sprint Purchasing T-Mobile?

What is everyone's opinion on this? I have heard quite a bit from sprint fans, but is there anyone that does not want T-Mobile to be purchased?

number 1 in customer service???

every time i need customer service help on the phone i am on hold for at least 45 mins for the pleasure of speaking to a person with a very weak grip on english if i do not get hung up on during our transaction and have to start over or i could go to the local TMO company store (i35/seminary) just to have them try to put me on the phone with cs and more hold time and the final blow was when i went to return a phone i bought outright and had the rep tell me it was more than 14 days i had to point out that i paid full price $449.00 bb9780 and he dissappeared for a few mins then came back and slammed down on the table a pen and asked me to sign the return papers an attitude was obvious i am a dreadded flexpay customer but i feel the $155.00 mo...

advice on older phones

My wife is switching from Verizon to my T-mobile account so we can share minutes. She wants an old-technology phone since she only uses her cell phone for voice calls. She requires a small phone -- under 3.5oz and less than 0.6" thick. She likes the thin clamshell designs, but would consider a bar phone.

Using the awesome search engine on this site, I came up with a short list:

Nokia 5130
Nokia 5310
Nokia 6300
Samsung T519
Ericsson Equinox
Moto RAZR V3

As usual, the reviews are mixed, but I can ignore issues related to texting, internet, music, camera, speakerphone, etc. Reception is important. Less so battery life. Any thoughts?

MYTOUCH 4G PREDICTIVE TEXT NON-EXISTENT!

If you go in settings under keyboard & launguage & touch input you will see that their is a tutorial that actually shows the predictive text working. I just got off the phone with HTC & the tech support guy went through all of the settinngs & tried to text & he couldn't get it to work either. My anwer "Possibly it was included in the original software, but left out". This makes me mad because I need predictive text. The only prediction is in swype which I dislike. I may return the phone for this! BASICALLY PREDICTIVE TEXT IN THE QWERTY KEYBOARD IS NON-EXISTEN. Additionally, if you change to the phonekeypad keyboard or the compact qwerty...nothing changes.....it stays the exact same keyboard. THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS SWIPE. Now if you...

NO ONE CAN ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!!!!!

I am considering switching to TMO from AT&T. I am interested in the MyTouch 4G phone. I have asked reps questions and keep getting different answers. I see there is a $70 prepaid plan with unlimited text/talk and 2G of data. Coming from AT&T they highest data allotment they over is 2G….so this plan is AMAZING. My question was, what is the major diff between being on a TMO prepaid vs Postpaid plan. With AT&T prepaid you ONLY have access to AT&T towers period. I am told TMO lets you roam and use gives you the EXACT same network access as on their postpaid plans. NOW another rep tells me on the new prepaid plans you do not get 4G or 3G access, you are restricted to the EDGE network (2G) . I hate 20 answers for the same question?...

Data plan question

A 3rd party retailer is offering free unlimited web & Email for a Blackberry with TMO.
Question is why is it free with a Blackberry OS 6 and they charge for say an Android phone? 😕
If I start out with the free data plan would I be able to swap SIM cards into a Android device and keep my free data package?

MyTouch 4g HSPA+ Question

Hey all-
Quick question I'm hoping to have answered, went to 2 T-Mobile stores and still not certain, also tried Google. I have the MyTouch 4G on an EM+ Plan, 500 mins, $59.99, my location is downtown Chicago. In my "about phone" settings, the network type used to indicate "HSPA+." I had a sim card issue with wifi calling and was sent an OTA update from tech support.

Ever since, the network type always indicates either "HSDPA" or "UMTS" and never "HSPA+." The store reps have told me that although the phone displays HSDPA/UMTS, it is still running at the "4g" speed / HSPA+ and that the network does it automatically if I am in a 4g area, which I obviously am.

This just doesn't make sense to me, am I missing something? The Samsung Tab o...

"H" but never 3G

Have the new mytouch 4g. It only ever displays H and E. I know the E is for Edge. Is the "H" 4G or 3G? Or does 3G actually say "3G" like it does on at&t. If the H is 4 G, I am curoius why I NEVER EVER See 3G only 4G & EDGE?

Potential big T customer...

I've been shopping around carriers since my Boost Sanyo phone felt like taking a hot bath, and T-Mobile does not seem like a bad option, mainly due to that little "no deposit" thingy.

Now, I understand that most of the people that use this particular forum room are either T-Mob employees or customers, so I was wondering if there is anything I should expect or watch out for in starting service with them?

Remember, one more educated customer is one less customer on the phone inspiring new material for the Shop Talk forum.

Thanks,

DJ

Switching: Sprint to Tmobile

I've been a long time Sprint customer and feel like I need a change. The only reason is because I feel like Sprint is awlays last to get anything good - in terms of devices.

I'm looking to get a new WP7 device and Tmobile seems to have the best selections (HD7 & Dell Venue Pro). The only issue seems to be their service plans. Am I missing something? Sprint has a $69 plan that includes unlimited data and text, while Tmobile looks to charge an extra $50 for data and text not to include $50 for the talk time. WTH?!?!

Really could use some insight into getting a good plan (if that is possible).
