I have a sprint postpaid acct , but I have a blackberry i would like to use for sms and data only. I do not want a a contract becuase i travel internationaly a lot and we will be using an Egyptian sim in the BB while roaming as my EVO wont roam (dang sprint) What I want to know is can I get a prepay tmobile number for my BB and be able to use sms and data only? AT&T wont support BB on prepay so i am hoping Tmobile will so I donr have to get ANOTHER dang contract. Also any one know the aprox. cost of the t-mobile service? Thanks for any answers

You are not able to use a Sprint phone on the TMO network because Sprint is a CDMA network and TMO is GSM.

I personally have never tried, and I've never heard of anyone trying..
It should work as long as it has the radios for it and it supports a sim card. As long as it has our 3g frequencies supported by the phone, then 3g should also work.

If its a global phone (CDMA and GSM) Then Yes it would work. However bbm doesnt work on prepaid. You would be better of going with an Even More Plus (non-contract month to month) plan. u can do data only on a blackberry for 39.99 a month on an Even More Plus plan.

You can.

Be aware that you will be able to SMS/Talk just fine.

EDGE data speeds should be capable once you set up your phone's APN settings, also be aware prepaid plans do not allow for Blackberry services. Things that work through blackberry like the blackberry email client and BBM will not work.

Once configured properly, you should have a WAP browser icon that will show up on your phone. The WAP browser, normally labeled 'Web2Go' , 'T-zones' , or 'WAP' will be able to browse the web, the standard internet browser will not.
