better reception..why?

I'm not complaining...very pleased in fact, but curious as to why. My parents have a huge dead spot for sprint. Their verizon phones get ok reception. The other day I got a text msg. from sprint that an upadat was ready for my phone. I dialed *2 an it updated my phone. Now I get full reception at their house. Better than verizon even. I just wondered what happened and why. I'm on the sprint only network. If there is a new tower in the area I shouldn't have needed an update to pull in a signal should I? Any thoughts? I was thinking about switching but now I couldn't be happier. Live in Kansas City area.

Phone Insurance!

Is it true that the Sprint phone insurance deductibles are now going to be $50 instead of $35 or is that just a rumor. Personally I think we should pay nothing if we pay for insurance every month but someone else might have another opinion!

any new pda phones comming?

well i have looked at what they offer now and am not too happy. is there anything else comming for sprints pda lines. the closest one i have contemplated is the treo 600 but the service guy from sprint pcs center said it sucks. and i would have to agree. without actually considering anything else, the phone is not that good. example is u cant take out the batt and have a second as a spare if neeeded, the sound is really crappy fron the ear peice. i am also disappointed that there is no bluetooth or wifi. alot of units now have that and none of sprints phones has this? and for the price? good lord i would only buy it if it was about 130.00 not the crazy 500.00 or even 300.00. these price butttt munchers are out of their minds for setting the ...

data connectivity kit for Sprint phones!

Just a suggestion, Sprint should really consider to find a better data kits for all Sprint users!
Everytime I go to Radio Shack, I see some cheap data kits with 1 feature which cost US$ 29.00, plus a cable that cost me another US4 29.00...US$60 to purchase 1 software with 1 feature and 1 cable? My goodness...

There is really a better option for Sprint and Radio Shack. I travel to Asia last month, there is something called Handset Manager, the part number is MA-8512 for Sprint phones..with the package price of US$ 29.00, includes software(6 or 7 features I forgot), data cable, and the cable is a charger too! I wonder why Radio Shack and Sprint do not bring this kind product in? From my point of view as a sprint user, this product has more...

major issues

Ok, I'm not saying this to direct people away from sprint. I'm just letting you all know the experiences that I've had with them.

I've had sprint for a little over a month and already I've had 3 different phones (2 samsung a680's- both froze when people called me, and an audiovox 8920- that phone feels cheap and always felt like it was gunna break) I was tired of the lame customer service, 2 reps lied to me about some of the issues I was having with my phones and thats just unexceptable. I basically got tired of their crap and the lame phones they kept giving me... 3 phones in a month?! Come on man, thats terrible. Anywho. If sprint has been good to you, then thats great, I guess I was just one of the few unlucky ones.

Hey Sprint, Verizon has finally given birth to the CDM-9900 "the close cousin" to your CDM-9950

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I was so impressed with your Sprint Audiovox CDM-9950 last March, I could hardly contain myself. Yet I had to wait because of the imminent release of the nearly identical phone by Verizon.
Last Friday 10/01/04 Verizon finally, finally delivered the Audiovox CDM-9900. I hope these two kissing cousins make everyone happy!. And in the spirit of competition let the EV-DO Games begin. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Dropped calls

I need to ask some advice real quick. When I sell anyone a phone on any of the carriers that we offer at my company, I tell people that they really shouldn't have more than 2-3 dropped calls a month and that if they have more than that they should contact customer service because there may be a problem with thier phone or may be some kind of network issue.

I also tell them that is they live in outlying areas that they will drop more calls, thats just the nature of the beast. Also I tell them that while they are traveling between cities that they are more likely to drop a call vs being in an urban area with multiple towers.

My question is: Is 2-3 dropped calls a month a fair estimate? Should I tell them that they may experience more...
