Is it worth the switch? To be honest w/ you I never really experienced most of the problems everyone has explained they had on the forum w/ Storm 1. I have been afraid @ times in the past to download the newest software b/c I never really had any problems. A majority of the friends I have who use the Storm have played around w/ my phone and said its more responsive than their's. The only problem I have ...

Last time I had checked it has always been $15/month. That is what I'm being billed although I have the unlimited plan for everything, so Mighty14 may be correct. You should call Verizon. Regarding speeds check the following forum posts: https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p _forum.php?fm=m&ff=1864&fi=1944988 https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum .php?fm=m&ff=1864&fi=1940658 I wrote the first post however I would say I believe the second post like I believe Ford telling me I will get 21 mpg on a 2009 F-150. I have a 2007 and I only get 11 to ...

I'm not sure about the Storm but when I had spoken to BB tech support they stated that the device only checks email every 20 minutes. There is no way of changing that schedule. This came as a result of me putting my two companies email addresses on device through GoDaddy. I'm not sure if you use the BB address if that's push to touch but it doesn't automatically pull emails instantly (retrieve them as soon as they are ...

@ that rate you would be going through 2 batteries a day if you had an extra. That is unacceptable. I would go back b/c there could be a hardware problem and you wouldn't want to misdiagnose the problem.

Point is MMS or SMS is needed for direct instant messaging and also b/c there is a huge market segment that do not have email accounts or check them very seldom. Also, we are talking about today. I would rather have the ability to text pics rather than not. Point blank. If you don't care about having the ability to text pics then that's your loss...I will take the benefit of that feature. To me that is one disadvantage of ...

One of my best friends used to work as an engineer for Nextel and then when they got mergered or bought out by Sprint. Ever since the transition they have been going down hill. Major cuts and lot of the engineers jumping ship to the newer carries or AT&T. Anyway, he said that there focus was on Wimax and not really on new phones. He is an engineering not the marketing or sales side but he told me not ...

I'll wait til it's official. I really never had any problems w/ the phone since I bought it. I did update it to .75 but I never had any noticeable problems even before that. I never liked being the guinea pig...being one of the first people to ny the phone is the most risk I'm willing to take. I like to hear all the people's responses before I jump in that's why I love this site. Battery life is ...

It does not matter what carrier you are sending an email to but it does matter if you are sending a text to someone through your email which you can do. I don't see the lack of understanding b/c I have done this several times w/ some of my friends who had phones w/out email capabilities. The way in which you enter the name you send to differs by carrier. BTW, there are a lot of people missing out and ...

Good post PlayBoyPenguin. When I said that the phone is a toy, I should have noted that its strictly my take. I say this b/c the iPhone to me as my iPod and my phone in one w/ internet. Other than that I could not use it for business. It would hamper my productivity when I’m out of the office and would cost me more money to get the same functionality as if I had a BB or a phone ...

Dec 24, 2008, 10:32 AM

I am posing this link just to get some good dialogue rather than a heated war. I believe the iPhone is more of a toy rather than a business phone b/c it is not built as a work phone. I don’t think it is trying to be either. Apple knows that they have their own market. PlayBoyPeguin brought up some interesting points in some dialogue that we had about the iPhone having superior HTML email viewing and web browsing. I ...

I thought that Verizon and Sprint allowed you to unlock CDMA phones and allow them on their network. Wasn't that even a post on Phonescoop? I think that new GSM Curve is going to have to be their upgraded BB.

Good point. Verizon does offer free lessons @ their shops. It is very different from the other BBs. It took me a while to type productively however now I make very little mistakes. If they did have the BOLD w/ the same hardware w/out the touch screen I think I would have gotten that device just b/c the qwerty keyboard though. But I am loving my Storm.

Text messaging will always be around. it's quicker and some people don't have email on their phones so you would be excluding them from getting the message. Also, its very cumbersome trying to email someone text pic if they are on a different carrier. What if they are w/ T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, Alltel, etc. What do you type in? To confusing...they will probably include that soon.

I don't have a problem w/ receiving HTML emails. When I had my 8830 I downloaded software called BBSmart and I could open HTML and pick up just about everything. The Storm handles it much better. I have no reason to be dishonest but it might be one pic w/ a little x on it once in a blue moon but that same thing happens on my email through Outlook. So, I have not been missing anything. If nobody wants the phone why is it a lot of people seem to be very intrigued by it? Like you for instance you have quite a few posts. I thought you would be on Diamond Pro forum. I doubt it. 1. If they take out the wi-fi most likely they would make it a world phone adding the same features as the Storm. Verizon does have Wi-Fi phones. 2. Yes, w/ Verizon they'll make you pay to play. 3. The camera on the Storm is 3.2mps so you can expect this to be the same as well. 4. I agree that the browsing and HTML e-mail viewing are better w/ the iPhone. Light years are a huge stretch. The iPhone offers some nice very nice features but let’s not exaggerate their features. I have no problem bringing up the HTML viewing on the Storm. I just click Get Image and it’s done from menu bar...not a problem. BB doesn't automatically show the images to save space and for speed. Plus, most business users don't get a lot ...

I agree w/ HawkeyeOC. If you look @ the article he just sent earlier (http://crackberry.com/top-10-reasons-why-iph one-still-no-blackberry) it gives very good reasons why the phone is meant for many. I also use all my phones for their tethering features and if I can't do that its pretty much a wrap. I agree w/ the nickle & dime though. I really like the device. It could be drawing emotions of love soon but I don't like to be to0 easy. My complaints are the following: 1. I cool w/ the keyboard but its hard as hell placing the cursor where you need it. The should have allowed you to use the web browsing cursor or should have kept the track ball. I know they are competing w/ the iPhone but making the device a bit fatter and including a ...

That is a great article for anyone who is looking to purchase an iPhone. Especially for a business oriented user. However, exactly as you said it definitely the iPhone is a great device but it is comparing apples to oranges. On the flipside the Storm has been built to go after that iPhone market. The Storm can do everything the iPhone can do and more while the iPhone does some things better. Do you think BlackBerry w/ the Storm maight ...

That's funny...I was so skeptical about leaving Windows Mobile for the BlackBerry since it did not have any applications. I never really liked Palm OS either I had a life drive for awhile. I guess I so comfortable w/ Windows it always made sense for me to use.

I really like the click screen and some of colleagues do as well. It feels natural for me to click the screen. I feel as if I'm always pushing down to hard on touch screens. I was just reading the reviews on CNET regarding the Omnia. I check CNET when I've got the itch to inquire about a new toy and read up on their reviews. Anyway, they gave the Omni 4.5 and half stars and the Storm 3.5. Although 3.5 is rated as very good. Their bottom line comment was as follows: "Though slightly more expensive, Verizon customers looking for a touch-screen smartphone will get a better user experience and faster performance from ...

I agree...I'm pretty conservative. I still have XP and still waiting until I my IT guy gives me the green light for Vista. My girlfriend put it on her computer when it first came out and she did not fare to well w/ that. I used a Beta maybe once and that was for Skype which did not turn out bad for me at all.
