VZW has a lifetime exclusive with the Storm providing they can meet sales quotas. Sprint is out of luck unless the Storm turns out to be a sales bomb at some point.

I thought that Verizon and Sprint allowed you to unlock CDMA phones and allow them on their network. Wasn't that even a post on Phonescoop?

I think that new GSM Curve is going to have to be their upgraded BB.

Yea, you can get them unlocked through Verizon or other means although some people have had trouble directly calling VZW up and getting someone that can give the unlock codes. The Storm will work on other networks too.

I know they have gotten the Storm to work on T-Mobile and AT&T 😁

GSM carriers are far more open to non-branded sets, while they maynot bend over backwards to help with settings, they do help if its an easy fix.

As far as exclusive is a previous post, that happens to be true, but, there will be more touchscreen BB's which will be available to other carriers.

One of my best friends used to work as an engineer for Nextel and then when they got mergered or bought out by Sprint. Ever since the transition they have been going down hill. Major cuts and lot of the engineers jumping ship to the newer carries or AT&T. Anyway, he said that there focus was on Wimax and not really on new phones. He is an engineering not the marketing or sales side but he told me not to be expecting much in regards to new phones and just that they are ailing right now.
