Rich, did LG bring any slim sliders (other than the Glimmer) that rival the LG KF510 that was unvailed at MWC 2008. Seems like Europe gets the cool phons and we get the cheep plastic phones. A KF510 would be killer in the US! 8)

Samsung Soul
Samsung brought the new Soul (U900) to the show and they claim it is a GSM QUAD band (vs the tri band they brought to BWC 2008). I am hearing that it will not be available in the U.S. anyway. Has anyone out there herd anything about this phone coming to the U.S. or if it can be purchased as an unlocked QUAD band?
Will this phone make it to the US?
If this phone comes to the US what impact will the lack of 850 mean for users? AT&T or T-Mob?

After Cingular releases it in the next few weeks you will all have been robbed! It will be $199 w/ a 2 yr and within a few months after it has been released it will be even cheaper! You have to really like the phone to buy an unlocked one. Anyway, happy cell phoning....

The K1m is for a CDMA network and Sprint and Verizon use a CDMA network. The K1 is for a GSM network like the one used by Cingular and T-Mob

The point I am making is that Nokia does not have to officially release a phone before they allow carriers to test them. Moreover, when a carrier like Cingular puts a phone into testing they often times announce that the phone is coming like they did in this case. This phone failed Cingular’s testing so they canceled it from their list of phones "coming soon"

So, by YOUR logic, carriers like Cingular can not test phones prior to the manufacture release date and they have to immediately put them into the line of currently offered phones once released by the manufacture. Good thing you do not work for Cingular’s product development group… Nokia announce long ago that the phone would be coming. Take a look at the RAZR V3i or the new KRZR K1. Both good phones with very similar feature to the 6126. Do listen to all the Moto haters out there. For every Moto hater there is a Nokia hater. They both make great phones so get the one you like and will meet your needs. Stay away from the 6102i. It's am OK phone, but it is limited in features and use.

Nokia software is one of the best and easiest to use. The 6126 has been canceled from Cingular's line up and it does not look like any other major carrier will carry it, so if I were you I'd look for a different Nokia phone.

Moving on to KRZR K1 - THis one is not coming
My local Cingular store had 5 on order with an arrival date of Aug 17th. Cingular (out of Atlanta) canceled the order with a note that said it had been canceled from the line-up!

The message posted above from Falou at 3:46 am has a review from a guy that says the inner LCD is difficult to clean and remove smudge marks due to the lack of a protective glass cover. Additionally, it is more subjective to scratches. My Moto V551 is a bear to keep clean even with a glass cover. How easy or hard do you find cleaning your inner LCD and do you treat you 6131 with more ...

This will be a deal breaker for me. I do not want to have to take “special precautions” when using this phone. Does anyone know what to look for when this phone is releases to see if they have fixed the issue?

If the rumors of Cingular sending the first several shipments back to Nokia due to the outside screen cracking and poor battery life are true then I would be careful about getting one of these phones from Amazon. It is possible that they got the returned phones at a discount.

The 30 days starts from the date you purchased the original phone even if you exchange it for a different model.
Nokia - "We Don't Know"
Nokia USA Customer Service 1-888-665-4228. They have no information on any release dates or if Cingular has even put it into testing. If you need a new phone now you may want to think about moving on. If you can wait, it may be worth it.
