Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133
The strangeness surrounding this phone...
Ok, so it's out, it's not out...one site says this, the other says that...the big question that I have is, why is a phone that has so much publicity and advertising behind it virtually unheard of by the companies involved. I have spoken with representatives at stores (both cingular and third party), I have called Nokia customer service, I have called Cingular customer care, and Cingular sales. No one knows about this phone, and if they do, it's very little. But then you look at all the hype that's been around it. The cingular store in my hometown has had it on their pricelist since June, and have had merchandising for it since May. And they continue to recieve merchandising for it. yeh, that sounds like the same run around I've gotten basically everywhere else...it still doesn't sound like they know anything about it. Weird...

Yea me too i have looked the for up on line and called cingular know one really know alot about this phone but i talked to one of the guys and he said they are working out the bugs.

To add to the strangeness...I called Nokia twice today and spoke with 2 different people that said as far as their systems say, the 6126 is already released on Cingular. On top of that, the Cingular Cust. Service Rep I spoke with today said that she saw it in the list of AVAILABLE phones, but couldn't find what area it was "available" in. She also couldn't find any more information beyond that, and was perplexed to see it say it was available, yet it wasn't for sale on the site. Maybe this new development with the upgraded models is what Cingular's been waiting on. Perplexing to say the least...

I work for cingular in PA. My Regional VP (Hodges) told a group of us that the 6126 had been cancelled because it wouldn't pass our testing. *shrug* I don't know if that means the 6126H won't come out or not in the future, though.

Yep, I had one of the marketing guys in the store the other day, and when I mentioned it he said it was cancelled. Apparently they gave Nokia a month to work out whatever was going on with the phone, and they couldn't. Even shows up "Cancelled" on the price list now.
Wonder what Nokia's going to do for those of us who were supposed to have won one. Probably send out 6102is or something.
