HTC Radar 4G? From the front, they look nearly identical.
Another "fast follower" play from Samsung.
question on the camera.
So, it take a 38 MP image (or 41). The quality of a picture doesn't necessarily fall within the camera sensor, but also includes the lens aperture, the processing RAW chips, the product software.
So my question is. How long does the phone take to process a picture at maximum resolution? The HTC One can take 8 mp pictures at 4 per second. Who would want a device where you have to hold the camera button ...
So having actually used this software....
It is a great operating system and it has potential....just not to tech enthusiasts.
Let's just call WP 7.5 for what it is. IT is a OS for first time smart-phone users or the casual smart-phone user or the business user who doesn't want a blackberry.
The Pros:
I like the integration between FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and the contact list. The "people hub" is the best contact list out there for me. It gives me a lot of depth ...
Re: LACKS HSPA+
Specs are one thing, real world use is another.
Not only is network speed an issue when you webbrowse, it is also about how fast your phone can render the pages.
I have both a Sidekick 4G with 21 and a Sensation with 14 and live within a few miles of T-Mobile's HQ in Bellevue, so I always have full signal on all network technologies.
My sidekick may stream alittle faster on youtube, but on web-browsing, especially on picture heavy sites, my ...
Still don't agree.
"The differences between Android 2.2 & 2.3 are pretty significant."
Not really, the site you refer to makes that clear. There is only one key improvement, which is better battery management.
Also, unlike LG and Samsung, HTC will most likely upgrade the software soon. HTC even supports old phones so the chance of getting Gingerbread when it is fully released and test on DINC2 are high.
"What is wrong with having a 4G device now? You never know when it'll ...
1370 MAh battery?
This has a lower spec batter than the LG Optimus S (1500 MAh).
Running two full size screen? I see this thing lasting 2 hours at a time (no matter what the PS spec says).
We all brag about Hardware, but....
What do you think about the Sense UI?
I have to admit, compared to ho-hum stuff like Touchwiz, Motoblur, S-Class...I really like the Sense UI from HTC, as much as the iOS from Appple.
I know a UI treatment is not that easy to sell, say such as a 1 GHz processor or a 4.3 inch S-LCD screen, but as a user, I love Sense UI and feel that it differentiates HTC from other smartphones that rely on hardware stats.
Thoughts?
Dual Core.
According to the data I received, dual core procesors will be an energy SAVER compared to Snapdragon single core processors by a decent value.
However, just because you have two cores, doesn't mean it's twice as fast as a single core of the same clock speed.
Actually, forget Motorola
The reason that Revolution gets no love is because they won't be first to market.
HTC's Thunderbolt will be hitting Verizon as the first 4G LTE device.
HTC, yet again first to market with the latest 4G device, now at Verizon.....lol.
Nope, but....
I haven't used a radio since Pandora has come out.
SWYPE
I heard SWYPE will be released on a future software upgrade.....
Re: ...they make a crappy desktop OS too.
I've used the OS. It is actually very good. If you want a taste of Windows Phone 7, go to your local best buy and play with the Zune HD, it runs an OS that is as fast and graphically similar to WP7.
makes sense.
With the population getting older and not everyone wanting a smartphone... :o
I'm sure this phone will do well, as long as it is cheap. My mom would really appreciate the big keys and screen. unfortunately, she ain't on USCC.
Having actually used this phone...
Yes, it's not a smart phone, so all those idiots who exist to point out the obvious (Man what's the point of this dumbphone?), I suggest you go and argue in the smartphone arena.
There are still many people who don't want a smartphone and the data plans that entails. this is my take on the phone.
1. The phone is extremely well built. It has a feel of quality. The build is very tight and it looks ...
Re: Wow this phone will save Sprint!
Yeah, with the number of issues with Nexus one, I'd rather have this phone. That and the fact that Google thinks they can add their own ETF on top of what T-mobile will charge?
I don't think so. No wonder the Nexus one only sold 20K units at launch.
Re: Looks familiar
It looks like the LG 370 at Sprint. Does Sprint really need 3 similar looking low end slider phones?
What's the difference?
It seems to have similar specs, but it just looks more rounded than the original instinct.
Can you tell me what the differences are? It's not like one is more expensive than the other...
Re: G1 knock off
Then would the G1 have to bow a bit to the Voyager, the original QWERTY/Touch phone?
Perfect for my dad
See my dad is 60+, but still thinks he's 40, but his body is definitely 60+ (sorry dad). He had a RAZR but while he liked it's design, he couldn't use it properly.
In Canada, the Wine is sold through Bell Mobility and I got him one and he loves it! It has a loud speakerphone, great big keys and fonts (albeit not TOO big) and it looks sleek (unlike the Jitterbug senility phone).
Also, it has ...
Re: Ask us about the Pre!
Two Questions:
One
Am I right to assume that the Pre is not compatible with applications made for other UI's?
Two
Will the Pre work with older Palm OS based applications? Such as software from the Centro?
HAve you actually read the review?
"I'm not sure if loading the store is the problem, but when you press the side music key, you are alerted that Java is booting. Why you need to know this I don't know. You are then informed to please wait. And wait. And wait. It takes 40-50 seconds for the player to boot up, either because it's also booting up the store app or loading up your songs. The more songs you've got, the longer it takes. But ...
It fails in it's key duty as a music player phone.
If this phone is supposed to be a music player phone, it fails. In the review, the worst part of this phone was the music player. Partially Sprint's fault (with their insistence to latch music store), but also Samsung, who have not taken the music listening experience as seriously as Sony Ericsson or Nokia in the music world.
And the phone looks like a cheap Chocolate 2 phone.
Design is unoriginal.
It looks like an LG Rumour and a Sony Ericsson had a kid together.
Sort of looks like the Chocolate 2.
With a Nokia like set of music keys.
And the Rant like the LG Rumour.
Any copying going on here? 8O
Re: Why?
"So far, Helio is the only major MVNO that DOES seem to understand that. That's what sets them apart."
Actually Virgin is. They are doing fairly well, especially in Canada (and I'm sure in Europe).
I know a few executives from Helio, who got recruited from TELUS Mobility in Canada. Most of them have already come back, shaking their heads at what a failure HELIO has been.
Re: No U.S. 3G!!! So Sad
meh, if Nokia unlocks all the functions of the phone, it would be great. I don't need fast download speeds if I can load everything myself like ringtones, games, images, music, video that I have on my computer for the celly phone.
It does have 850, which is good.
LG's problem....
IS that they don't put their money where their mouth is.
IF they wanted to create a phone called MUZIQ, then they needed to have worked real hard on the MP3 player portion of the phone. However, the MP3 player on this phone seems to be the same as the MP3 player on the FUSIC.
That means it is a mediocre player that is not much different than any phone with an MP3 player built in.
The name MUZIQ ...
Re: I'll take "Things that are almost certain to break"...
Don't worry about quality MuchDrama, I'm sure by next year, like fashion, this phone will be passe and the fashionista will have moved on to the Samsung Valentino phone or Motorola Armani Phone.
Re: Good game to download?
If you like first person shooters, Mobileburn website reviewer said "Brothers in Arms" was very addictive.

Re: LG enV Rocks!
Ok, here is my noob question.
What advantage does this phone have over a Windows Mobile phone such as the new Treo or the Motorola Q?
It seems like this phone is as expensive as the PDA/Smartphone, but it doesn't offer things that they do, while a PDA/Smartphone offers everything that the enV does.
Re: Nickname?
I like another poster who called it a "Chocolate WAFR"
RAZR HUMR, GOTA LAFF.
Re: LG copies Razr (aka LG sucks)
"you just at dumb..."
At least the concept of English Grammar doesn't slip my grasp.
Re: LG copies Razr (aka LG sucks)
Actually, it is closer in looks to a Samsung a900, but with expandable memory and LG's signature "touch pad" controls.
As for your comparison to the KRZR. Considering you have prolly seen a picture or two at most, you really have no basis of comparison to this phone (considering you have only seen a picture or two of this phone).
Re: Keyboard layout :(
In Canada, we have been exposed to the FASTAP keyboard for 2 years now.
The reaction has been thus:
If you are very use to T9, it is no faster than T9.
If you are phone noob, it is much easier and people type faster on the FASTAP keypad.
One advantage the phone has over a QWERTY keypad is that the phone maintain a REASONABLE size unlike QWERTY which are not suitable for clamshells and make for either large or fat bar phones.
actually......
I think Motorola will take away much more of Sanyo's share.
Sprint has way too many Sanyo phones that provide limited differentiation but lots of development time.
I also think they will take a little from Samsung, but not as much as you may think.
Re: this is what ive been whating for
They need to cut down on the Sanyos and one less Samsung which dominate their line.
Interesting
The KRZR looks sorta close to the LG VX8600 which is coming around the same time.
They both have the MP3 touch sensitive controls, are both RAZR thin and a touch narrower and have internal antennas.
I wonder which will come out first and what the pricing on each will be.
XM is on phones now.
XM radio is sold in Canada through Telus on the LG 8100 and Samsung A950.
XM is a WAP based J2ME protocol that is available on EV-DO handsets.
So in actuality, you are incorrect. You have to petition Verizon to sign up XM or Sirius and then it will be available on most Ev-DO handsets, WITHOUT A SOFTWARE UPGRADE.
