i'm trying to decide between this phone & the alias 2. so far i'm leaning towards this phone. however, i have noticed several reviews of ones saying the phone shuts off automatically. i asked a VZW rep about this & they said it's a software issue & if you get it updated, it will stop. has anyone had VZW update their software to correct this problem & did it work?

i'm frustrated with the whole thing also but so far, i show no data useage. but still havent recvd any pix text from other carriers. i didnt realize the Nationwide plan was suppose to fix that. interesting.

actually it was not backup assist that was causing the megabyte usage. i talked to another VZW rep who said backup assist will not cause the usage. she noticed i received a lot of texts, including pix texts. she stated depending on the network its coming from, some of the pix texts that i receive will come in as data and this will go against data usage. i forgot the exact terminology she used but i noticed this past ...

Glad to get all these suggestions. I already had VZW to block a lot of features but some they did not block b/c as some have said, it will prevent me from sending/recv txt or pix txts. Some type of block will cutoff my ringback tones which they did not block that. And someone said I am getting charged b/c I was searching for ringback tones. NOT. I do that on the website b/c I know there's a charge ...

I upgraded to the Voyager in Feb09. I had to switch from the America's Choice calling plan to the Nationwide plan b/c of the data type phone. I only got this phone b/c I liked the option of touch screen and an actual keyboard & the VZW rep praised it. Got the basic plan b/c I dont need all that internet stuff. I AM SOOOOO TIRED of every month, VZW is hitting me up w/ a $2 megabyte ...

Corded Headsets
I just can't find a bluetooth that can fit on my small ear so I'm going to look for a corded headset. Just wanted some opinions on which is the best corded headset for the Voyager. I have used them in the past with other phones and they sounded horrible. Not sure if it was the headset or the phone. I'm hoping there are some better ones out there these days. Again, any opinions would be appreciated. ...

funny...i just got off the phone with a vzw employee friend..we were just talking abt the price increase of the voyager. i got mine for $29.99 as well. he said so many customers have come into the stores irate b/c of the price increase. he said he does not see the prices coming down soon and they really are not working with customers to get them a better rate. whether the 800-customer care will help..not sure, but doubt it. ...

Call ringing volume
I purchased my Voyager 2 weeks ago. I really like the phone except for one thing: the ring volume. I have the phone volume set on high and you still can barely hear the phone ring; and my hearing is GREAT. I have taken it to the store twice, they can't figure out why. Told me to deal with it or download my own ringtones. Never heard that answer b4..always been told your downloaded ringtones are not as loud ...

I would leave. I've been with VZW for abt 4yrs and during this time I've seen a change with this company. The phones don't seem to be as reliable as before and as for the customer service, HORRIBLE!!!! VZW was recently rated as the best cell phone carrier out there. I swear it seams their service has gone WAAAY down since that report. I CANT find a pleasant agent now, in store or at their 800 customer care ...
car charger
not sure if this question has been brought up in previous forums but i must ask. just purchased the Voyager saturday and did not realize how it holds NO charge; therefore i must get a car charger b/c of my job. the charger sold by VZW is $25 with my corporate discount; i found an after market for $12.99. i've been told by VZW NOT to use after market chargers b/c it can damage the phone. is ...

this particular phone does not allow you to set your contact default by entry #. VZW confirmed that for me b/c i was wondering the same thing. the only thing you can do is view it by going to your menu > contacts > speed dials > type 0 in the search box so you can view in numerical order.

went back to Verizon again..they had no answer. they just switched the phone out. i've had the new phone for a lil over a week and it has not done it yet where as the other phone has already done it by now. i'm like you, i really, really like this phone. its great!
voice record options
i noticed today while on a phone call, on the front screen on the bottom right corner is an 'options' choice. i clicked it & noticed the option for voice record. i clicked it, it appeared to be recording the call but once you get out of it, where do you go to hear the voice record? is this feature actually recording a call or whats it about? can someone please tell where do i find the recorded info ...
powering off on its own
has anyone had problems with this phone powering itself off then powering itself back on? im still on a 30 day trial with Verizon. took it back to the store, agent said it needed reprograming, in which he did, but if it did not happen again a week later. i plan on taking it back & telling them to switch it out because i REALLY like this phone. are you talking about a ringtone downloaded from one of the Get It Now apps or the ones located under my ringtones or my sounds from the Get It Now screen (music & tones)? from Get It Now it will ask if you want to set as a ringtone. if you're talking about the ones located under my ringtones or my sounds..the only way ive been able to get them as a ringtone is to send the song ...

adding number to contact
Seems like I should know this but I don't. I have my contact list setup as view by "List" so that all numbers are shown under one name. My question is, once it's setup this way, how do I add a new number? I have a person with home # only but know I want to add their cell number. I cannot figure how to do this. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

I had asked a Verizon rep this question and they told me you cannot turn it on with it closed. You must open it then after that, you can answer calls and disconnect calls by hitting the speakerphone key on the side of the phone with the flip closed. I have played and played with it and cannot turn it on without opening it. Guess the Verizon rep was right.
