I would like to echo the request for more "objective" data on the various technologies (capacities, power outputs, range discussions, building penetration etc.) as well as some objective stats on the different networks (total number of towers, number of towers on various technologies etc.) - if this kind of information is even available.
Again - this was a superb intro and anything else is gravy and very much appreciated.

I'll second that. I tested one for five weeks all over the country. Best reception and call clarity I've ever experienced. As a result, I'm switching from Cingular to Verizon and buying the 815 and switching all of company phones over 815s as well. Great phone in almost every respect.

I recently had the chance to use a E815 for over a month in various parts of the country. I was very impressed with the build quality and the sound quality which beats anything else I've ever used. The phone and Verizon coverage was so good in fact that I'm switching from Cingular despite being with them for many years. I never had a single problem with the 815. According to one Cingular store manager I spoke with, he said the stats he had seen on the 6102 showed it as having the best reception of any phone Cingular has ever sold.

I heard (from my commercial rep) that it's scheduled for 9/12 for the B2B customers but that retail may not be until the Oct launch of PTT. It would be great to have it on Monday, but given all the rumors and different info I've gotten from my contacts I'm not holding my breath.

Just heard some frustrating news from one of my Cingular contacts here in the Wash DC metro area. They confirmed a mid-Sept release date (which syncs up nicely with my commercial rep’s info when looking at a delivery document that showed a mid-Sept arrival in the warehouse) but said there is internal debate about releasing the phone before the mid-Oct release of PTT. She indicated it’s very possible they’ll hold off the release of the 6102 until ...

Ditto for the Balto-Wash area. Local manager says they should be in the store any day now and the store has 6102 posters all over for with a Back to School theme. Also, our commercial account rep looked up the purchase order and it showed a large shipment due into the warehouses by Sept 16th.

Follow up to my earlier posting in another thread - I've spoken with two different Cingular reps at two different locations (DC Metro area) and got the same story from both. Bottom line - the 6102 was supposed to have been released this past week but has been delayed with no new projected release date. So, consider the source, but seemed to be on the money.

Right there with you. I need a new phone and a new plan bad - the Rollover minutes are the only thing keeping me alive right now.
My corp rep mentioned they had a lot of problems with the Motorola MPx220 and had to pull it so it might be they're being extra cautious on this one. Only the shadow knows for sure...

Spoke with the local retail store today - they said the release has been delayed - no date on when it might be available.
Also, spoke with our corporate rep and he said they generally get the phones 3-4 weeks before the retail stores and they still don't have a release date when they'll be receiving them. He says they're still in testing.
I'm in the Wash DC Metro market.
