Re: MetroPCS Acquisition by Alltel
I agree with wombough; I doubt MetroPCS will be acquired. They have deployed, starting with 1XRTT and expanding to EVDO, a CDMA network from the ground up.
Per the MetroPCS Wireless web site: "As of September 30, 2007, we had launched service in eight of the top 25 largest metropolitan areas covering a licensed population of approximately 39 million and had over 3.6 million total subscribers, representing a 40% growth rate over total subscribers as of September 30, 2006."

Re: Razr hacking - anyone do it?
Got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Re: Adding Contacts...
This is due to the fact VZW requested to use the VZW software in the RAZR instead of the Motorola software.
I like some of the features of the Motorola software but having multiple numbers under each contact is much better.
Re: ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SCREEN SAVER?
I never found a screen saver on a phone useful. I don't have time to look at the phone that long. Going black sounds good to me.
Re: i have questions that i hope u can anser
RAZR v3c with Verizon Wireless
1. the menu by default is disabled so the background is not obstructed.
2. there is no memory card option.
3. The charcoal grey phone is the only option with VZW. Cingular GSM version is black.
4. For Flix res is 176x144. Highest res for PIX is 1280 X 1024.
5. I don't rely on a camera phone for high quality Pix. You get what you get with a camera phone until they release 5 megapixel cameras ...
Re: RAZR problems to watch for.
Battery life seems to not be an issue just yet for me. However, I have noticed the phone quickly moves from 4 bars to 3 bars within 15 minutes of using the phone. Then after this it appears move slowly from 3 to 2 bars. I have not let the phone run down to 1 bar or low battery yet. That will be the next test.
The buzz in the speaker is from the backlight. If you ...
Re: Razr and Bluetooth headset
Recommendations are difficult because it depends upon what you like. Some headset have ear pieces that go into your ear, some like the HS820 site on the outside of your ear.
The Motorola HS820 or HS850 work well with most, if not all, Motorola brand phones. However, the HS820 is not suited for noisy environments--high volume level is limited. But this is a good headset overall--Easy to use, easy to bond with the phone and only 3 ...
Re: Razr-What bluetooth is good for it?
If you trying a none Motorola BT headset then anything is possible.
I have tested the Motorola HS820 and HS850 BT headsets, as well as the IHF1000 and HF850 BT car kits. None of these devices introduce static on the phone.
You may want to have your cell phone providers rep check out your phone. The issue could be the phone.
Re: LG VX-1000 vs LG-VX 9800
The sarcasam was quite evident.
Re: 911 Button??
But can you imagine if a parent programs the emergency button to call his/her cell phone and then you don't answer. When the child needs help they can't get help.
Re: this should be designed for pants pissers
Amen! I spent 30 minutes on the phone with my 64 year old mother who couldn't understand why the phone went black every 60 seconds. So she kept pressing & holding the Power/End button, turning the phone off. She insisted something was wrong with the phone.
My two teenage daughters have the same phone as gramma and they know more tricks with the particular phone than I do.
Re: what's the point? just restrict an LG
Not all phones have the ability to restrict outbound calling. Someone mentioned the LG VX-6100 allows for call restriction. Your best bet is to contact Verizon Wireless to ask which phones allow call restriction
Re: They ARE NOT the first....
Ah yes. I stand corrected.
*228 is OTA activation not programming.
The OTA firmware upgrade must take some time. Wired firmware upgrades take about 20 minutes.
Re: They ARE NOT the first....
I am not sure if T-Mobile was the first or if Verizon Wireless was the first. VW had OTA sometime in 2002.
The only difference I see between VW's and Sprint's versions of OTA is manual vs. automatic. Sprint is offering automatic updates when they are made available vs. having to remember to manually update the phone.
