They ARE NOT the first....
Although they don't do it to their entire product line, the sidekick has had this feature for a while.
I would think it would be a little harder for GSM companies to implement this since its customers can have different types of phones outside the regular lineup. With Sprint, Verizon and Nextel, you are pretty much stuck with whatever phone is available in their lineup.
