If you check out the review on mobile-review.com, it appears to be taken care of. Check it out here:

If you think a 100 song limit is bad, it's a 50 song limit in singapore...

not in the same class as the w800
IMHO, spec-wise, this is a huge disappointment. VGA camera, visually boring, smallish screen, no edge, crippled bluetooth, etc etc etc
The only advantage it has over the w800 is GSM850, but this isn't important to everyone...
Obviously, this phone hasn't been reviewed, or even seen by many people, yet. We'll see then.
BTW-why don't phone manufacturers include an in line remote on thier headphones with music-oriented phones? The "end call" button is fine for business phones, but this is ...
VGA camera?
Maybe I expected too much...VGA camera is a huge dissapointment in this phone. What is this, 1999?
Re: Forget about the Nokia 6255i
take it back to sprintusers.com boys, thx ;)
Re: Stateside confirmed.
This phone is already being sold, and is 900/1800/1900. Dunno how it could be released by Cingular.
Airplane mode
Just out of curiosity, does this phone have airplane mode?
Re: cingular browser gprs settings...need help!!
My Cingular store was of no help to me, neither was Samsung. I was able to get my phone working with my Cingular service, and it works fine now.
My first question would be, did you enter the Cingular settings exactly as they are listed on this board? Second, did you then select that profile, or did you leave it on the default one?
I'm no expert, but it sounds to me like your area uses GSM 850 alot, ...
Re: Uploading MP3's
If the card reader doesn't work at all now, and wasn't working 100% before, what would make you think the phone is to blame? I could never get my 735 to load music with the data cable, but I had no problems with my card reader.
Honestly, I would eliminate all potential problems before doing something drastic, such as taking a huge loss on an expensive phone.
Re: Uploading MP3's
stupid question, but is the file extension .mp3?
not all music files are mp3s...it could be .wav, .wmv, or anything else
Re: Uploading MP3's
So, you can't upload mp3's to the rs-mmc card, or you can't read mp3's off the card once you put the card into the phone?
Re: Need some help with Samsung D500!
How hot does the battery get? I'm certainly no hardware expert, but that would worry me a bit leaving it charging over night. I wonder if the battery is flawed?
Re: Need some help with Samsung D500!
1. press and hold down the # key
2. not sure
3. is your phone dying, or just showing low battery life? I don't trust the battery indicator on any phone to be honest...charge it over night and see what happens
Re: Uploading MP3's
When I had this phone, I put the mp3's on the rs-mmc card via the card reader, then put the card in the phone, and then made sure the mp3 player on the phone is set to read the mp3's off the card. I don't remember the exact way to do this, but it was in the options of the mp3 player, and very obvious.
When you load the mp3's onto the card, make sure you put ...

speech to text
This phone will have speech to text capabilities I beleive...
Some interesting notes
After browsing thru the manual it appears that:
1. No bluetooth
2. No speakerphone
3. Unlike the d500, the mp3 player has a true equalizer with presets
4. Unlike the d500, the mp3 player can play in the background
5. The menu has 3 different visual options, much like the p735
I could be wrong on the speakerphone, but I found no mention of it as of yet in that manual

Re: Considering selling my S710a.
Agreed. No offense, but if you get $550 for your phone, I'll be shocked.
Re: New Video On CNET
yeah, it was a 7.3...2 weeks later its a 8.0
very curious
Re: Cingular?!?!?
Who knows for sure if it has a speakerphone option or not...the phone isn't out yet, so I would consider any specs listed on this site as "tenative"
Re: Which other model chargers fit D500?
I purchased my charger at a TMobile store that works just fine. Ask for the charger that fits the p735; it's the same one. I got a charger that has both wall and car plugs built into the same unit for 18 dollars.
Re: Cingular?!?!?
the p777 looks to be the cingular version of this phone
I use my d500 on the cingular network and have had no problems so far. A few instances of only 1 or 2 bars, but no complete loss of signal yet.

Re: Cingular WAP/GPRS.MMS settings help needed!
This is cut/pasted from another forum, I can't take credit for this, but I did try the settings and I have no problems on my Cingular account:

Then go to GPRS Settings, dont worry about GSM settings they do not apply to us.

Re: Front display shuts off the clock after a bit. Can it be turned off?
I think you are out of luck. I could never figure it out, and the fact that you had to hold the side button down for 5 seconds to get the display to light up made me keep the bigger display on the outside almost always.
Re: Nice design
It still opens upside down if you do it one handed, however. I honestly think the design of it is the one huge drawback; that and it's size. A slider would have been much nicer, but that's just my opinion.
antenna?
So this is the 850/1800/1900 of the D500 I guess? I wonder why the antenna though....really kills the lines of the phone.

Still not even a dummy phone in stores...bad sign?
I remember my local Cingular stores had the z500 dummy for a month before that phone came out, and they still don't have the 710 dummy. I'm wondering if this is a bad sign...not to mention the fact that NOBODY has a clue as to a release date. I've been told it's not even on the price sheets yet.
Re: No Longer Coming Soon!
Good information, thank you
Re: s710a advertising
that add has been on cnet.com for weeks now :(
Re: Size and use?
You can do anything that isn't keypad reliant with the phone closed evidently. Things like renaming pictures, typing text messages, etc are obviously not possible with the phone closed. I have read, interestingly, that you can't take pictures with the phone open. The phone is almost identical to the s700, so read up on that phone on howardforums.com, and sites like it, to find out all the info you want to know :)

Re: Sony Ericsson says it will still be out in December.
I have no doubt it comes from the outbox for a SE rep...I've just seen many form emails, and that appears to be one.
Re: Sony Ericsson says it will still be out in December.
It would be nice if this is correct, but considering the "form" style of that email, my guess is still mid-January.
