I am not sure why my experience is different.
I live in a strong cell area (4 bars). Today is Sunday, so only 3-4 emails.
The phone has been on for only 4 hours, 47 mins of talk time
Down to 70% battery..
So, is this typical???????

battery life is still poor.
down about 25% this morning with 20 mins of talk time, 10 emails and minimum surfing
i've had a few smartphones before, never had a problem lasting a day. the iphone doesnt quite make it thru a day. i bought the igo charger just to carry around.
how do you best calibrate the battery??

No, i am not a troll..and yes, perhaps a bit of playing... i've had mine 10 days with the pre-order.
but i average 90 mins on talk time a day plus 30ish emails..
i can't make it thru a day..
Battery Life
I've had the IP4 on the early delivery, previously had a BB Storm2.
My battery life is very poor, not lasting a day, where the Storm typically lasted. Also, can not change battery like the BB.
i've shut wifi, dimmed display, no gps..
what's been your experiences?
any suggestions?

Opera Mini 4.1 upgrade issue
I downloaded 4.0, then tried to upgrade to 4.1
I am having difficulty downloading the file to my Curve - it seems to 'keep going in a circle' and i just can't download the file.
I also tried downloading to my PC, with no success. The opera site also said that the browser will NOT work on Verizon; I know the previous (4.0) version worked fine on my VZ Curve.
Any ideas?
BB desktop manager
The BB desktop manager does not automatically start when i plug in my curve. i must manually start the program.
Is it supposed to start automatically? any idea how to correct?

I am new to BB. Does RIM typically upgrade the O/S on existing units (verizon)?
I am specifically looking for HTML e-mail which is not available on current O/S. I am aware of 3rd party apps which provide HTML e-mail, but prefer native apps.

I was fooling around with 6800- it seemed like the voice dialling needs to 'trained'; unlike the Moto Q, which is speaker independent.

I understand the 240 mins is under ideal conditions - but we are talking about an extended battery, that with extrapolation should run 300+ mins, we are only getting 80 mins.. (in NYC with strong coverage)
SO, if you bought a car advertising 24- 30 mpg - and you only get 8 mpg driving conservatively - that wouldn't bother you?

this is similar to my experience with many Q's and AFTER swapping many batteries.
since i use 80 or so mins/day: my battery low warning typically appears in early evening.
i've read and followed ALL the suggestions in all forums _ BATTERY LIFE IS NOT CLOSE TO WHAT IS ADVERTISED...

Your AOL works either thru outlook, or via wireless sync. I would call VZW to walk you thru the process

My time is 10 days on standby and 7 hrs of talktime.........
I can't come close to this. I average about 60 mins talk w. std battery, about 90 mins talk with extended. I occasionally use BT, no wireless sync, check e-mails every 1/2 hour..

I've found Moto support works well 800 331 6456. i did get BT working but after a few times, i had to re-start the entire setup process again..
having said that, i find that the cable works cleanly and reliably- it ain't sexy but it works

I find it works well for incoming mail. I have not figured out how to view the 'sent mail' folder.
I go to AOL, hit the menu for folders, I see the 'sent mail' folder, hit 'send/rcv'; but can not get those messages, any ideas?

Activesync vs Wireless Sync
I've been using activesync to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar- worked pretty well.
I was travelling, my Q died, and I've lost my contacts, calendar. I spoke to VZ who convinced me that Wireless sync is a better choice... He set me up for my AOL e-mail; i concluded that the 'native' outlook mail on the Q is better for my e-mail needs.
It would have been nice to be able to get my 'data' if i had been using ...

I returned my original Q for poor battery life- they couldn't give me a new battery, swapped entire unit. I was getting 4 hours with moderate use with BT. 9had same issue with replacement)
Now, my Q won't 'boot up' - I am traveling to SF, and need to hunt down a store to do a swap..
anyone have problems freezing up and not booting?
i've invested an equal amt in chargers, SD, etc. than i paid for the unit..

IMAP (AOL) Mail
It was easy to set-up my AOL acct-- the incoming mail works fine. HOWEVER, I can not get to the folders with my 'sent mail' as well the 'Saved on AOL' folders.
any ideas?
also, how can i access my address book? i've imported (via Outlook) many e-mail addresses, they don't seem to be accessed when composing a message. (i assume this would apply to all types of e-mail)
