"Unable to place call" when trying to access web

Has anyone experienced the error, "unable to place call" when trying to access the web? This happens semi-frequently to me and I have to powercycle the device in order to get it to work.

I have been having the same problem, I have to resart the phone about once a day. Other that that I like the phone but unless I can find a solution it is getting returned.

Call customer care, you need to ask for advanced tech support and then data tech support, they put service ticket in for mine and once that finished I have not gotten this message since. Apparently it has something to do with the way the q accesses the network.
I am on the 4th day without a problem,
before this i got this error at least once a day.

guys, it happens with this phone.

that error means way too many different things to discuss here.

it could mean any one of a dozen "sprint" web errors, or that there is no signal, or really anything.

the way i explain this error to noobs is that it means "i dont work right".

it kinda sucks, but nothing you post here is DEFINATELY going to solve the problem. even worse, it appears that nothing can permamnently fix it, if it is coming up randomly.

if a powercycle fixes it, be glad its not worse. this phone is a disaster.

Powercycling doesn't even work for me. I have to reprogram. I should NOT have my MSL memorized, let alone programmed as a contact. And yet, I do.

i dont mean to contradict you, but usually, when something random (such as programming) fixes a problem that it should have nothing to do with, it is for another reason.

in this case, its not the programming that does it, its having the "phone" off for 45 seconds while programming it. no one ever clarifies this, (i am also guilty of leaving it out) but 'powercycle' implies that you leave the phone off for 45 seconds or more, because this is how long it takes for the network to clear your VLR.

again, not that something as mundane as programming COULDNT fix it, but it SHOULDNT.

We have to remember, this is a motorola device. Nothing makes sense. I finally got my Q to accept the software update, but now the volume for the media player is very low. I have tried everything, but cannot get it back to normal.

Yes this is a sprint issue.
I sell the verizon version and have not seen this issue. Verizon had their issuses with the q when it first came out but seem to have gotten it figured out.
Hopefully sprint will get it fixed also. I want a phone that i can use as a phone first, organizer second, and email/ web third. If this issue got fixed I would get another Q.
