Re: Everybody keeps talking about Data caps...
Everyone says how great VZW is on service. Well they themselves are "encouraging" users to use wi-fi at home or wherever possible because the network will overload. YES it is reliable, YES it is expensive but VZW rarely admits to their shortcomings and the truth is the only reason they are pushing wi-fi is because the Network will overload, they had thet problem earlier this year when 4G was down for about 2 days. The only real complaint I ...
Re: WiMAX
How can you get 15Mbps? VZW stats themselves state that max speed is "up to 12Mbps." Here where I live, I won't lie I have gotten a max of 7.5Mbps on my Samsung Epic, usually it is steady at 5.5Mpbs, but it constant and never throttled.
Re: It's all about the money
"Realize that no phone is perfect and buy what meets your needs."
Very funny posting but well said as far as what I am quoting you on. I love Apple, I am a graphic designer and have everything Apple except an iPhone because of its limitations. Although I had to buy third-party software to be able to plug my Android into my Mac, I don't mind because Android gives me more customization options than the iPhone. Furthermore, I can click-and-drag ...
Re: Yeessssiiiirrrrr!! (Netflix)
I hear you on that!!! It sucks, I am currently paying $12.99 for 1 Blu-Ray at a time and Unlimited streaming. Got the email day before yesterday, they're slitting up costs and charging seperate for the mail-in movie and the unlimited streaming. going up a whopping $8/month. I'm not liking it, everything is going up in pricing except....Well you know.
Re: So...
I'm sorry, I didn't answer the question. Under VZW iphone sales were indeed down for Q2 2011. ATT reported drops in sales as well.
Re: Shotgun approach
It will be interesting, but unless they make some drastic changes, a HUGE facelift and a revamped App World, i don;t see anything changing for the better for RIM.
Re: Shotgun approach
iPhone is simply not Taking over the world like the iPod did for Digital Media Players. Android is leading the market with almost a 20% (and rising) larger user base than iPhone.
Re: Netlix App & Other Streaming Content
I have it on good word (sister works for VZW) that power users such as yourself on VZW WILL BE THROTTLED!!!
ANDROID IS DOING GREAT!! SO.....
:o Does this mean everyone using Android will be paying extra like before on BlackBerry?!!! Everyone wants a piece of the ANDROID pie. It's no wonder, it's the biggest OS among st smartphone users today, leading even over iPhone by a hefty percentage. :o
Re: I don't understand....
This is very true and something I totally agree with, however, on the one month that I tried to use as much data as I could, I used 1.5GB. On a usual basis, I use about 300MB - 700MB. I don't stream anything so yes I should pay for what I use which is nowhere near 2GB. A 1GB plan for $15 would be fine but VZW has given no option for low end smart phone users.
Re: AWESOME!!!!
don;t know where to get the 2.3 from :(
Re: Sprint 4g Sucks
4G works great in L.A. I get consistent speeds at ALL TIMES. :D
Re: AWESOME!!!!
My Epic gives me NO problems. Has never given me ANY TROUBLE. I am bummed that it doesn't get Netflix but Netflix on Android was only released to specific model anyway.
Re: AWESOME!!!!
WHAT ABOUT THE EPIC. It's dropping to $150 in prep for launch of the HTC EVO 3D 4G!
Re: This is seriously awesome.
This is great for those who have time to type on that screen, I love my Mac I will keep on trucking (or word processing) on that. It's like iMovie, I can't fit everything I wish to edit on that. Great for consumers, Prosumers and up not as exciting. :(
Re: laws
You're right NOONE reads T&Cs, but to play the devil's advocate, it can be considered laziness. I actually sit and read my owner's manual when I get a new phone. I had to with this Android, it is my first. Used to be RIM all the way.
Re: laws
Actually, this issue arose because user found out that their location data was secretly being stored from their iPhones. They didn't download any app, have an option in the settings to turn off any sort of "track me" option, etc. It was something that the device was doing without the users consent or knowledge.
Actually, the disclosure can be found in the terms and conditions that one ACCEPTS in order to use the iPhone. However, I do grant you the ...
Re: STOP GIVING**** AWAY!
Shaniqua? really?! SOUNDs A LITTLE RACIST. TONE IT DOWN!
Hope it stays reliable.
I sincerely hope that unlike my MSN MESSENGER, with MS acquriing Skype, it doesn't start failing as well.
Re: This phone would be perfect if...
Better Than Android? I don't agreed, the customization capabilities are Frighteningly inferior, the app market has nothing free, when I loaded music on my old Pre it lagged. Yeah it is NO WHERE NEAR a well constructed as Android.
Harsh Title
Targets The Deaf seems like a harsh title Phonescoop. But this is a great addition to Sprint ID.
Re: Close but no cigar
WHAT?!! no Android APPs or Flash Support on BB OS 7. Yeah, I'm done!
Re: Close but no cigar
Well said and absolutely correct, most users want more than dependability. I never understood why Android was such a big deal until I got one. I was a big BlackBerry user for the past 6 years.
The day my Samsung Epic was delivered on March 22,2011-my first Android handset and yes I remember that date exactly. I was still doing yard work a few minutes after 7 when UPS came to deliver-I activated it and within minutes I was ...
Re: Time Warner sucks
Funny part is that HBO is Time Warner.
Re: poor verizon customer service
    well said
Re: poor verizon customer service
 Yeah, I bet that's exactly what they'll do but you take $1 for a few million customers and thats money.
Re: poor verizon customer service
VZW is not one to issue credits though, however, for this case, I'm sure they will.
Good thing it's back up and running.
1 day in the dark, not to bad, but I must admit, one day is very inconvenient. Glad its back up and running.
Re: Another Sprint Spin opportunity
L.A. or somewhere like Albuquerque, NM or Fresno, CA?
If it happens...
So if the merger gets the greenlight by the FCC, does this mean the merger won't be comleted for 24 months? Assuming that each process and the merger takes the FCC and T-Mobile a year each respectively? :o /;|
Re: Shooting themselves in the foot!
That was my point, if you use their faster 4G speed, won't they reach that 2GB destination faster?
Shooting themselves in the foot!
Logically speaking T-Mobile makes the claim the the average 4G user uses about 1GB of data per month, however, if their 4G is as fast as they claim users would reach that allotment rather quickly. or would they? I don't know, maybe I just enjoy play devil's advocate too much.
CORRECTION: Re: While it lasts.
CORRECTION: "this has not stopped Clearwire/Sprint from implementing tier data plans."
I meant that Clearwire/Sprint has NOT IMPOSED tier data plans!
Re: While it lasts.
WiMax has been unlimited for its entire existence thus far. However, even with the expanded coverage and millions more users that have gained access to WiMax in the past 2 years or so, this has not stopped Clearwire/Sprint from implementing tier data plans. Hence, I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.
Re: Keep the positive things coming Sprint.
How much you have to pay wasn't my point. My point was simply that you still have that option. However, yes, you must be on an Everything Data 900 $89.99 as an individual or Everything Data 3000 $169.99 as family plan in order to get the one year upgrade. Point being, with Sprint that option is still available.
Re: Come on Sprint.
YES! Very excited! This phone is well on its way to be an iPhone competitor. The display although not at the print quality of the iPhone (326ppi), it is 235ppi which is a significant advancement over normal ppi (pixels-per-inch) on other handsets including the EVO or Epic.
Re: Keep the positive things coming Sprint.
I think your opinion is a bit harsh. So yes $10 Premium Data fee, so yes Premier program is now tiered. However, I am happy to pay $10 Premium Data Fee for Unlimited Wi-Max and not $30 for 2GB on ATT or $50 for 5GB on VZW for their version of 4G. Moreover, VZW doesn't een let you upgrade once a year, even on the primary line, so it all depends on how you take it. :D
Re: Other special offer: Port your number from Sprint, not have to have Sprint.
Don't forget that on Sprint, you also get the Any Mobile Anytime that allows you to get a receive or make a call to any cell phone regardless of the network. :D 8)
Re: Nice incentive but......
Let's be real, a computer (meaning a non-manned system) generates the data of usage. Billing errors are myths, so when your bill says you went over, that’s because YOU WENT OVER YOUR ALLOTMENT of minutes, messages etc. etc. I have only ever had ONE billing error with VZW and if you’re responsible, you know it’s your fault. I had an $800 overage because of my minutes, I knew I had gone over, it was not their fault. This applies ...
Re: Nice incentive but......
There is a chance as they just received the J.D. Power award for Customer Service Champion. That makes 11 quarters in a row of consistent customer service improvement. :D
