I am going to Toledo to help with the VZW conversion. Where is the call center located at and what is there to do in Toledo? I know it is a decent sized city but I will be there for 2 weeks and would like to have something to do (and drink). Any recommendations?

Not as easy a buy any GSM phone. You can def. buy a phone from eBay or somwhere as long as it is a VZW branded phone and activate it. One thing is if you buy a phone not from VZW get the ESN from the seller before you give them your money and call cstmr srvce to make sure the ESN is clean. For example if someone steals your storm we put the ESN on a lost/stolen list ...

Ha that was the tough part. Some of the trainers are now using them as their business phone so they now use it 24/7. Talk about jealous. I asked if I could switch depts. until I got my personal Storm. How sweet to have a Storm a week before launch active on your acct at a cost of $0 both for the phone and the plan? Perks of the job.

Typing on the Storm is cool. It is hard to describe but I felt like I could easily get use to it. And the storm is a good combo of Iphone and Curve/

Not happening anytime soon. There is nothing planned for the palm pro and the 800w is in our system but either it has been lost w/ all the other phones coming in the next month or so or it has been pushed back. so i dont see any new palm devices in 08

No. VZW is CDMA so go off electronic serial number (ESN) on the back of the phone.
I got to play with the storm this afternoon for about 20 mins and I was very impressed. I think you will love it.

I work at VZW call center. CSR and Sr rep is same thing except Sr gets paid more (usually 5%) and they have shorter periods between calls.
Cord. can be data/tech or global. My call center has global cord. But i think I may have the only call center like that. they take tier II and roll over from care.

I would say go with 1400 select plan. Gives both of you unlimited txt. 119.99 for both lines. Add 29.99 each for data. So 170 a month.

I played with the Storm today and didnt pay close attantion but thinking back it sounded like it was the phone and not coming from the speaker. But again that idea was not in my head and I was focusing on a dozen other things. I will try to get ahold of one again tomorrow and if so I will report back.

I never said the Touch Pro would have Android.
I never said VZW would be the next to have an Andriod phone.
And HTC does not currently offer any World Phones for VZW, thats why I noted it. I am aware what a SIM card does as I work there.

Yeah I had not heard anything either. I did not get a chance to ask him about the GSM phone. I mostly asked about the Raphael and how he is liking it, release date, etc. He seemed to think everything was going as expected for the phone, in a positive way.

I asked the guy what phone it was. He said he had the Raphael, which I believe is the same as the Touch ...

W/ BB on VZW you are required to have the data plan and they are billed in KB not MB (you are on Americas Choice in which you are the exception billed for mins)
I am a VZW lover but I agree the wi-fi would be nice for a few reasons:
1) What else can VZW haters complain about?
2) Be nice to use for extra speed even though 3G is fast

True, but there has been mention after mention about it being able to use 3rd party GPS systems. So unless everything reported is wrong..
The best way is to just wait until some official in-depth reviews come out and not just the 30 min hands on that are avail. now.

The good news is VZNav is only $9.99 a month and in the time it took you to ask your question you could have done some reading and seen the BB Maps. :D
