Ok, so I've been hyped for about 5 months now waitin on the Bold from ATT, only to find out that with the STEEP price tag and my renewal not up until Feb, it's just out of my reach. So with news of the Storm being only a week away from release, and the great price they're launching, I need some help deciding on whether to switch.
I've tried going through their site, but can't really get a true estimate of what my motnhly plan would cost for a Family Plan on the Blackberrys.
I currently have 2 lines with ATT one is a blackberry, my hubby has the Iphone, we both have data plans. We get 1400 shared min a month, nights and weekends (9pm), and 1500 texts each. I pay around $175 month for all this plus we have tons of rollover minutes because...

I would say go with 1400 select plan. Gives both of you unlimited txt. 119.99 for both lines. Add 29.99 each for data. So 170 a month.

Sounds good. I didn't see that option on the site. My other question is if Verizon uses SIM cards?

No. VZW is CDMA so go off electronic serial number (ESN) on the back of the phone.

I got to play with the storm this afternoon for about 20 mins and I was very impressed. I think you will love it.

Well, I had the iPhone and gave it to my husband after only a couple months and went back to my curve. Just wasn't feeling it like the Blackberry's (email, ridiculously low ringer, etc.) My husband is big on the touchscreen, but feels the same frustration I had with the iPhone and certin features, so I think we will both find our middle ground and fall in love with it. Thanks for the info!!

Of course.
Typing on the Storm is cool. It is hard to describe but I felt like I could easily get use to it. And the storm is a good combo of Iphone and Curve/

What state do you live in?

I'm in Mississippi. Just wondering though...I get the "New Phone Itch" about every 6 months or so. With ATT I could buy one off Ebay and just pop my sim in or whatever. If I want to get a new phone before my contract is up, how hard would it be if I say purchased it off Ebay or something?

Not as easy a buy any GSM phone. You can def. buy a phone from eBay or somwhere as long as it is a VZW branded phone and activate it. One thing is if you buy a phone not from VZW get the ESN from the seller before you give them your money and call cstmr srvce to make sure the ESN is clean. For example if someone steals your storm we put the ESN on a lost/stolen list so no one else can use it or even activate it on another acct. Basically becomes a fancy paperweight.

Of course, the Storm will have a sim chip, but it will be locked to AT&T and T-Mobile. It does support GSM 850/1900, however for South America.
