and where are you gonna go?
all the companies have the same practices....
Re: Not the right example.
That was funny!
Re: ummm...
as much as I appreciate what your point is, the analogy used is hardly a representation of the true story
Re: "Overall...
well written!!!
This should be a mandatory read for 95% (see what I did there) of the people on this site
ummm...
You wouldn't pay the upgrade fee if you bought the phone full retail
Most carriers charge an upgrade fee... Verizon's is actually cheaper
Re: Verizon lost my returned phone
It's probably fair to say that sometimes a screw up comes with consequences... Just because you admit it doesn't mean it gets fixed in your favor.
On the same note, empathy, doesn't solve the guys problem so what good is it? So he can feel bettter? The guy just wants the problem solved, he doesn't care if you feel sorry for him (or at least he shouldn't)
Re: scary
you need balanced thinking... not balanced votes
With Congress it's kind of backwards... It's nice when one party has control in that they can at least work towards their agenda (dont read that as an absolute, but rather a path of logic)
When it's split neither party can get anything done (see present day) because every issue splits votes and can't get passed
Again, you need balanced thinking politicians, not a balance of extremist? voters
Re: scary
they bitched, but didn't leave...
Re: scary
I hear ya Jay,
Unfortunatly being two Conservative is also a bad thing... and this debate about unlimited data is a perfect one.
the strong conservative opinion: If you don't like it, go somewhere else or A Cell phone is a luxary
The strong liberal opinion: My phone should be free, service cheap, everything i want, and work everywhere
Neither of these "ideals" is correct in my opinion... a good balance of liberal and conservative views is generally the way things need ...
Re: scary
With the last year of developments in the wireless industry, I gotta say I completely argree
While I tend to err on the conservative side (if you don't like it, go somewhere else). I will not say that cell phones are such a luxuary that they're not almost required of us to pursure happiness (see what I did there)
I love your point that (paraphrasing here) "at some point, regulation is the only way it will not get worse"
Thank you ...
Re: scary
Definitly agree with you here. Saying "it was the right thing to do" was definitly not what he should have said
From Verizon's standpoint he's right though aka why not charge more if people will pay it
but I'm a firm believer that if you do the right thing, then things work out in the end... trying to bend customers over constantly is going to blow up in their faces
I'm typically not a fan of regulation, but I fear it ...
Re: WHat if you already have 4G unlimited from the beginning on an individual account?
i'd imagine you can keep your unlimited until your contract ends... once that happens it's anyone's guess
I'd imagine you'll lose it at that point if they're making everyone switch...or you can switch providers... once your contract is over there is no agreement towards your service
This is all a guess but seems like the most logical idea. It sounds a lot like it won't matter whether your a single line or family line
Re: WTF
i'd imagine you would only lose your unlimited data in order to get a Family Share Data pkg.
They have to honor your contract... after that they could totally tell you "no more unl data" just as easily as you can say "well no more verizon"
Lose unlimted to be part of family share
i'd imagine that this is more or less what you can take from this
They're not going to let you "share" your unlimited data with other people on your account, so if you want to take advantage of the Family Share Data... then you probably are going to lose your unlimted plan
Re: Sprint Account Executive interview (advice)
screw the masters... there's not jobs!!!! and the ones you wanna apply for you end up "over qualified"
trust me... i know!
Re: Got a question for da Verison reps
obvious troll is obvious
Re: Only if you can prove....
I probably meant they should have to prove that this law would even be effective before it is proposed.....
.....oh the internet
Only if you can prove....
that the accident rate actually decreases when applying a ban
Re: ? to Galaxy Nexus owners. . .
it's not a big difference because the menu buttons are built into the software and they take up some space
but then you watch a video and you get that full 4.65" of goodness
Re: Upgrade Time
There's a phone finder built into this actual site that will allow you to compare specs... and there's even a thread already for this topic that is directly below your as I right this
Fricken Yes!!!
Been waiting for this... super happy... works great
Would like to be able to acquire custom skins
Nevermind
Found them hiding in the Desktop Bookmarks... not mobile for some reason
Bookmarks
Any idea how to have Chrome for Android take your bookmarks from the stock browser?
Re: Or you can go to T-Mobile.
doh!
Re: These Kinds of Promotions
i'd say you have a point if they were doubling 3G plans as well but they're not
This promotion is to entice customers to switch to the 4G network in an effort to expand that footprint

fixed
Re: Sacrificing Function for Form is BAD
The menu button is a part of the software... no need for a physical button... not sure what you're talking about
Re: Wasn't the whole point..
Times do change... there is some value in controlling the user experience
Google could stand to control it a little, liek they seem to be doing lately
Apple takes controlling the user experience to a whole other extreme... this comes with some benefits and some costs to the user
Re: Bout Time!
thank u... its a play on an old insurance program my company used to offer
Bout Time!
It's about frickin' time Google attempts to ensure some sort of quality control.
Re: Will I lose my unlimited data?
you'll keep your unlimited
Much like BofA Debit Card Fee
I've already seen quite the backlash about this... Enough that I'd be willing to bet that this doesn't go through.
Same thing happened when Bank of America said they were going to charge a $5 fee per month to use your debit card... enough backlash caused them to cancel that idea.
I work at a Verizon Retailer and we use the phone system to aid customers with their payments... can only imagine how fun it's going to be to tell them ...
they better stick to their threat
.... and raise prices lol...
Wont happen
We should all know it was an empty threat
Re: Customer: No, no thanks, I don't need to be bothered, I'm just looking
Great Advice,
I will say that it easier said then done on a dailey basis.
Does anybody else get tired of having to kill yourself just to make a couple bucks?
Re: Blackmail?
more like a threat
Re: Randall Stephenson is right, and that is why Sprint is running scared.
Again, ideal vs realistic
Why lower prices when your customers are just fine with paying the current rate?
The unlimtied plan example from earlier was an industry-wide change... All companies want to charge as much as they can get away with (kind of the underlying point tot his entire thing). Unlimited plans were "promoed" at the lower price... this particulat instance turned into a high enough take-rate to justify the price reduction... thus the current "promo" pricing hasn't changed.
Re: Randall Stephenson is right, and that is why Sprint is running scared.
Valid point... guess you got me good there huh?
Feel good?
Never may have been to strong a word but I'm sure, since you're so damn brilliant, that you understood what was implied
In the end it wasn't about the price of the plan, it was about accessibility to those that would be willing to spend 69.99 as opposed to 99.99
If someone on a 59.99 plan makes a $10 jump as oppose to refusing a $40 jump then that one customer just ...
Re: Randall Stephenson is right, and that is why Sprint is running scared.
Thus why I didn't jump to plan prices like most others here... probably more network type things such as the price of roaming aka borrowing said network
I will fully admit I do not understand where that would come into play, but I do get that prices won't "go down": nothing ever does
Re: Randall Stephenson is right, and that is why Sprint is running scared.
That's the point.. if the merger fails to go through the prince won't go up. AT&T wouldn't put themselves at a disadvantage... they still have competitors
Merger goes through... no GSM competitors... why not raise prices in an effort to gain $$$. It wouldn't happen overnight by any means... probably start with increasing the cost of roaming agreements and going from there
