Re: How do I claim?
They may most likely make a public notice on how to do so, like those ads you see lawyers make on TV.
Re: YEAH!
That you'll probably use to pay them for your next bill.
Unless you switched providers, then you'll pay that party.
Will this affect Verizon's LTE in that area that they are swapping?
Also, does this mean that USCC will use that 700Mhz for LTE?
Planned availability
Jan 10, 2011.
That was yesterday. Just saying.
Re: Wow
root is your friend.
Re: Annnd what of T-Mobile's claim
I'd rather they do the whole 'fastest 3g network' argument with AT&T.
Re: T-Mobile
I agree. T-Mobile should definetely get some 700mhz goodies, even though they may not plan to deploy LTE soon.
Re: Not worth upgrading to--
Agreed. As a nexus one owner, this doesn't seem that big of an upgrade. heck, the droid x and evo are better phones (albeit CDMA), and I was even disappointed that Google didn't make it worthy this time.
Re: I can
Only worthy diff I see with the N1 is a bigger screen, more on-board memory. However, possibly no microsd card slot.
Frankly, doesn't seem that big of an 'upgrade' from the Nexus One.
Re: The saliva
$199 - 2yr T-Mo contract
$529 - No contract

Cant imagine why anyone would want to use it on ATT..the idea is appalling...
Company/Employee discounts?!
Re: at&t with edge only? what does that mean?
It means you get edge only. AT&T's 3G works on 850mhz and 1900mhz frequencies. T-Mobile's on 1700/2100mhz (or referred to as just 1700). So because of those differences, right now, you're stuck on edge.
On the contrary though, AT&T's edge is more widespread than its 3G coverage.
Re: unlocked will work for at&t?
it should work on att edge, assuming it will be unlocked.
since they did the same stunt last time, i wouldnt be surprised if they released an ATT version like 2 months later.
microSD card
Yes it has 16GB onboard, but does it have a microSD slot? I didn't see it mentioned on the website.
Re: Don't do it T-Mo!
I'm pretty sure T-Mo will stick with LTE. Whatever tech they use in EU will be the one they'll use here.
I think the reason they may invest in Clearwire is if Clear decides to switch from WiMax to LTE, or get access to more spectrum. However, nothing is certain until officially announced.
Re: Cannot see the need for this
Maybe they could sell this as a cheap prepaid alternative?
Re: Which Carrier?
He/She probably might mean an actual LTE radio.
Which Carrier?
T-Mobile, AT&T?
It says HSDPA 14.4, so it would be interesting if it was like the 2nd or 4th hspa phone from t-mobile.
Re: Wow
But smaller than the streak.
Re: Early Adopters?
Unless if they introduce tiered speed plans too along with tiered bandwidth usage.
Re: The heck with this, let's use carrier pigeons.
They'll probably overcharge on those minutes too.
Might as well go back to pigeons. Put some 160 characters on a little piece of rolled up paper. Better to feed it and deal with the crap.
Re: Big Red Sucks!
So much for the network.
If every carrier starts doing this, I'll happily go back to a good ol' fashioned prepaid phone that just calls. It will be enough.
Re: what is the freaking point moving to LTE??
It would still be a Mercedes....in name only.
This is pointless. They already said that 'bucket of bytes' was 'inevitable'. But this...really? sure, brag about 4g speeds and then make it slower than EV-Do.
Also, this could be very complicated for the consumer. With different data usage, and speeds, consumers will have to look at a matrix of pricing options. This could (will) suck.
Re: where is the gps navagation??
I don't think it has it. I checked and it has directions.
Still I'm sticking with Google Navigation.
Re: Gag me!
Wonder if Microsoft would let Google search bar/app on a WM7 device.
Re: Gag me!
No I just meant to say that since he (or most people) wouldnt download bing it had to be preinstalled.

I cant believe anyone would ever get bing on purpose.
That's why it was on your fascinate.
For I second...
I read Domino's Pizza support to Blackberry. :P

Great for warming up/cooling down the interior before you get in :D
Great for showing off mostly. Remote start has been available for quite sometime. Imagine people with their iPhones (and Android to some extent) bragging about this.
Re: How about the fact that it isn't 4G (My 2 pennies)...
I can tell you after about 6 months of usage, it is definitely not my handheld. A G2 customer who posted his review on youtube also mentioned of this issue.
I have been told by T-Mobile reps that upgrading ALL of their 3G towers to full fiber backhaul is a work-in-progress, so pretty soon all t-mobile towers in most 3G areas should see fast speeds.
Re: Well at least Tmo. . .
If by full deployment you mean overlaying their entire 2G and 3G network with LTE, then I find that hard to believe. It's been about 5 years since they started 3G, and AT&T hasn't blanketed their 2G network with 3G.
I believe it would start in metro areas, then slowly expand outward.
Re: Best Marketing ploy EVER!!!
Let's see who reaches 10G first.
And 100G.
And 1000G.
Let reaching the milestones begin.
Re: Other carriers?
Most likely AT&T will get it soon.
Now all thats left is...
To allow us to drive the car from our phones. That would be cooool.
On a related note, will this allow us to shut off the car completely in case it gets stolen?
Re: How about the fact that it isn't 4G (My 2 pennies)...
Mathematically speaking, numbers can be rounded up. Explains the whole 4g, 3g claim.
So 3.5, 3.51, 3.75 could be rounded up to 4G. But then 2.75 could be rounded up to 3G.
Damn, EDGE was a 3G network, and most of us already had 4G networks (3.5G technically). Who knew? Looking forward to 5G?
Ok. My 2 cents: Get rid of 3g, 4g bs, and just tells us what speeds the networks are. That is all I want from the cell ...
Re: Pay twice for the same data?
Well. you could root.
I think they should double the 'cap' for charging tethering fees.
WCDMA 850 & 1700
Does that mean it COULD work on AT&T's 3G network? (Atleast in places that use 850MHz).
I know in my city they use it.
Really?
Why not jump ship to 2.2 instead of TESTING 2.1?
Not to mention Gingerbread (3.0 or 2.3) is around the corner...
Re: What's higher than 2.2?
2.2.1
FRG83
I wish...
They sold batteries. I would like to get a replacement.
Also, they are more expensive than when google sold them.
