Re: What's Up with memory leaking???
Phone itself. I don't believe there is ANY phone device that stores messages on a card.
Re: *****QUICK QUESTION TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE DEVICE****
I would probably say steer clear. The buttons aren't terribly big - they're perfect for my slender fingers (5'8, 148lb). Good luck.
Re: awful battery life!!!
Wow, what an unintelligent post. The phone is fairly capable - and regardless of how the phone "looks" - it should hold a decent charge. Extended batteries are fine, but do make the phone bulky. It's not too much to ask to have a phone in a slim form factor and derive decent battery life out of it.
Re: Capital Letters in Text Messages
Pressing star to make the "Abc" icon (left softkey) to read "ABC" - and then pressing it twice to return to "Abc" is the only way. A bit frustrating. iTap is pretty decent on the V9m, I've always used individual letter typing but am getting fairly proficient at iTap. Give it a try.
Re: command button audio
Nope - this is designed into the system software. If you're good at seem hacking, you might be able to figure it out. If you're a normal user, sorry.
Re: awful battery life!!!
Yes, unfortunately this phone ships with a battery that is fairly weak (770MaH?) - My v9m from Verizon lasts about a day at best.
Re: Will AT&T carry N95 ?
I call BS.
Re: So this is a high end phone....
The only person I know who uses voice dial is my mother... and she has a razr...
Re: Will I be able to use the internet on the Ultra 10.9???
Yes, you can. Do some research on the Samsung forums on HowardForums.com.
Re: no camera?
Why do idiots who haven't done their research even post on these forums?!
Re: huh?
Excuse me? There aren't any subsidies for the iPhone. $499 and $599.
Re: Negative Reviews Planted?
I was thinking the same thing. Reviews from actual respected companies (CNET, Pc Mag, NYT, etc...) have all been quite good. After using the iPhone for a day I absolutely think it lives up to the hype and have found very few errors with it. Seems planted to me.
Re: Does NOT have full US support - no 850 band
I don't beleive so - it will be quite a while until it's rolled out in a *decent* amount of markets to warrant purchasing. If you dont live in one of the 10 biggest cities in the US you probably won't have it.
Re: Green/Black housing - metal?
Sock? Iew... The entire reason I use invisible plastic layovers is because they're IMPOSSIBLE to see and yet provide perfect scratch protection. I hate the added bulk of cases and big protectors... :X
Re: Where are the new SE's for T-Mobile USA?
Which is why I'm switching to T-Mo :) - I just wish Verizon's network wasn't so damn appealing... I literally get.service.everywhere.
Re: US carrier for K850?
AT&T is horrid in Arizona - which is why I'm switching to T-Mo. Everyone I talk to loves it, there's big time brand loyalty with T-Mo. Also highest in customer satisfaction... they must be doing somethin' right.
Re: US carrier for K850?
Indeed, great job.
Re: I guess its been settled, but what about Australia?
There *is* GSM 850. This has been confirmed by a PhoneScoop editor who called SE this morning. Read all the threads, it's called "From The Horse's Mouth" I believe.
Re: Green/Black housing - metal?
I'm sure it'll be more, but will drop to the $450-550 range in the first few months. ShieldZone makes a protector that's applied by getting it damp, applying it, and using a credit card to remove airbubbles. You let it sit for about an hour or two, and when it's dry, you *literally* cannot tell it is there. It's fabulous. Kept my iPod looking pefect for over a year, and I always just throw it in my backpack. And ...
Re: Where are the new SE's for T-Mobile USA?
True - but us privileged few who are learned about the conveniences to GSM (using and programming your own carrier-free devices) can get around their shortcomings.
Re: 5 megapixel?
Indeed... They already have this in Japan. It'll be a few years and we'll have it too (along with a whole slew of phone-related conveniences, like RFID advertising). Walk past a starbucks, you'll get a coupon for a latte on your phone. Again, already rolled out in Japan. Cell phones are becoming more and more necessary in our society.
Re: 5 megapixel?
Handset manufacturers are already incorporating higher and higher flash memory, making external memory less important. Example: The W960, that was announced today, has 8GB of internal flash memory.
Re: Where are the new SE's for T-Mobile USA?
The MyFaves should definitely be a java thing (or purely a network setting). T-Mo does this in an effort to sway you from purchasing unlocked handsets (like the K850i).
Re: Where are the new SE's for T-Mobile USA?
They're not for AT&T - they're for european customers. If you want one, pick one up unlocked unbranded. (I never buy phones from the carrier, unlocked unbranded phones are not nearly as common or dumbed-down). You will have to give up MyFaves if you want an unbranded phone and pay more, but it's worth it.
The lack of T3 (1700) isn't a big deal because it's hardly been rolled out in any markets. Once 1700 is more widespread, there will ...
Re: How many times a year does SE announce new phones?
The K810 was announced in February, though there is no set schedule to SE releases.
Re: US carrier for K850?
How do you like T-Mo? I'm going to be switching soon (On Verizon, hate it. Service is great but phones, billing, everything else is horrid).
Re: US carrier for K850?
Wow... I live in Tucson, AZ. No such stores. I buy online (and at full price)... :(
Re: US carrier for K850?
Pfft - who buys phones from a carrier?! Unlocked unbranded is the only way to fly. More expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Re: Green/Black housing - metal?
The blue's not bad, but the silver trim makes it look cheap IMO. I just wish the back of the black/green was matte, like the K810i. It would've detracted from attracting fingerprints/hairline scratches. We'll all have to wait for ShieldZone to release a protector for it. If you haven't checked them out, I suggest doing so, their covers are literally invisible once you have them on.
Re: Symbian OS??
Let's clarify which phone we're talking about to avoid confusion. The K850i has it's own SE interface.
Re: but the w960 does
And the K850i does not.
Re: US carrier for K850?
I'll be with T-Mo on this phone (because AT&T coverage SUCKS in Arizona). I just won't have 3G data, which is fine.
Re: AHhahaahhahah
He meant "divine".
Re: 5 megapixel?
It's not overkill when you load your pics onto your computer and don't need to cart around your seperate digital camera.
Re: Symbian OS??
The K850i does NOT have symbian. Thank God.

Green/Black housing - metal?
I know the stainless steel/blue edition is in fact stainless steel, but is the green/black edition metal? I sure hope so...
Re: companies make mistakes
Sounds like it's confirmed.
Re: US carrier for K850?
T-Mo 3G (affectionately termed T3), which runs on the 1700 band, is hardly rolled out anywhere. It doesn't matter, by the time 1700 is widespread, we'll see another SE phone supporting it.
Re: This is a good phone
The answer is the Sony Ericsson K850i! Quad-band GSM with EDGE, and tri-band HSDPA (yes, with 2100). Buy the U600 until Q4, when the K850i comes out :D
Re: From the Horses Mouth, K850 IS Quad-Band
Indeed, I'm buying the white Samsung U600 to tide me over...
