LGVX 10000

I think the env is a great phone, I also think the 10k will be a great phone. but when will verizon get rid of the ok button and use the scroll ball like the sidekick 3? I think it would make life much easier. instead of having to push the right arrow key over and over again. anybody else feel this way? It was the only thing i liked better about my grilfriends' phone. oh yeah and the internet was way better than the stupid WAP.

orange env cosmetics

i got the orange env on friday. by sunday the sliver trim, around the earpiece right above the LG logo, was flaking off of the phone and was mostly gone. by tuesday 4 days later it looked terrible, but you only really noticed if you were looking for it.

i took it back to the verizon store tonight and exchanged it for a new orange env. and the customer service rep told me she had two of these phones and both of them had the same flaking issue as mine did, and told me to expect it to happen again.

my buddy had this phone for a while and he never had this problem.

has anyone else experienced this issue?

Display Difficulties

I apologize in advance if I'm missing something obvious, and thanks a lot in advance for any help.

I just got an orange enV, it says the software version is t99vz02, and I'm wondering if there is any way to keep the front display from turning off. I don't mind the backlight turning off, but I want the display to stay on, especially if i can get the screensaver to work when it's not plugged in.

I've read a couple other threads about this, one of them mentioned a power saving mode. I attempted to change this by accessing the "service menu" by pressing "ok" followed by "0" and another six zeros, but nothing happened. I tried it with the phone open and closed, and with a number of different combination of zeros, but no menu would come up...

How to download and upload pretty much everything on USB!

Note: this was mostly done with the help of this page:
http://bitrazor.com/content/vx8600/index.php »
There is a data cable on Amazon at:
http://www.amazon.com/3-piece-Chocolate-Vx8500-Vx860 ... »
Directions to use the data cable on LG VX-9900 (env). I would STRONGLY recommend a SD micro memory chip to be installed and formatted (use 0000 to format). 2 Gig SanDisk SD Micro can be found on sale for around $30 at various places. 4 Gig chips MAY NOT fit well (they are a little fatter). Place all of your pictures, video, music, and sounds onto the card. (hint: use phone memory in tools and settings. Format is one of the options). I would also recommend an...

How to create and load wallpapers.

Wallpapers are stored on the LG env in one of two places as either a .jpg or .bmp picture file. I used only .jpg type files as I have a lot of wallpapers and snapshots on my PC. You can use pictures of pretty much any size but you will not get any better resolution than either of the two screens can display. For that reason, I STRONGLY recommend on resizing the wallpaper to the resolution of the screen.
https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php?fm=m&f ... » is my post on how to access the phone’s filesystem using an inexpensive USB cable and a program called Bitpim. With Bitpim running click on filesystem and expand the folder /. Navigate to brew/16452/mp . That is where you can store a file such as Full moon.jpg or whatever. ...

For Ashaneen-Chaperone

I read what you said to do. We have an ENV and an 8300 so that should be good, my question to you is, do you still have to pay the 10 or so dollars when you do it the way you said? Website says monthly feeand airtime.
Thanks Bob

Verizon Chaperone

I purchased my Env 9900 with the purpose to use the Chaperone feature through Verizon to keep a check on my daughter. I called Verizon and the tech stated the Chaperone feature only works with two lower end phones and no others at this time. If that's the case why do they advertise it on most of their phones? Does anyone use this feature?

Speakerphone

Ok on the Silver enV, whenever you're talking on speakerphone of course w/ the phone flipped open and ifyou accidentaly hit the end button on the outside keypad, it also ends the call even though the outside of the phone is supposed to be disabled i thought. DOes anyone know why that is cause i accidentaly hung up on my friend earlier this afternoon for playing around w/ the End button on speakerphone.

Frustrated-please help!

First, thank you for all the knowledge you have shared! I read all 14 pages of the forum and have learned a metric ton.

BUT...(yes the but)...

I don't see any information anywhere on syncing the enV to Outlook thru a Mobile Office Kit. I would like to sync (without using the wireless sync subscription) to my Outlook calendar so I have my appointments with me.

(I've asked the tech support guys and the salespeople too...way too much time spent in that store and no confident answers)

From what I've gleaned from this and other forums (like Howards) is that I will NOT be able to sync my calendar to my enV and vice versa. Is this True?

I'd appreciate any information on synching my Outlook calendar with my phone. Even if it means...
