There is a data cable on Amazon at:

Directions to use the data cable on LG VX-9900 (env). I would STRONGLY recommend a SD micro memory chip to be installed and formatted (use 0000 to format). 2 Gig SanDisk SD Micro can be found on sale for around $30 at various places. 4 Gig chips MAY NOT fit well (they are a little fatter). Place all of your pictures, video, music, and sounds onto the card. (hint: use phone memory in tools and settings. Format is one of the options). I would also recommend an...

Uh yeah just like Ashaneen said, if your icon is a picture of yourself, everyone can see it. I didn't even know you could do that.

It seems like money and time spent for no reward?

what's the advantage of this over using a card reader?

If you want to waste time, transferring everything over USB is fine, but BlueTooth is slower. Why not suggest that? 🙄
I, personally, use a card and card-reader for just about everything. Ringtones and DUN are the only thing I need the USB cable for... 👀
But that's just me. 😈

I agree w/ Ashaneen. I use my card and USB Card reader for everything as well all except ringtones. Videos, pictures MP3 files for my VCast Music. Works perfectly fine and no problems at all. 🙂 😁 I have synched my enV up to my friends Bluetooth enabled laptop and successfully pushed pictures and videos over to his laptop wireless which is pretty cool. I must admit that. 😎

Well, there are ringtones for instance. No way to get a ringtone into your phone without paying for it from Verizon. Another is that it is MUCH easier just to plug in the phone to the USB cable on my desk then to pull out the small micro card, put it into the adapter, put the adapter into the card reader, open the drive, copy the file, and put everything back together again. Then there are all the apps that Bitpim has, like creating and saving your contacts lists on your PC, scheduling your calendar on the PC, etc.
Just reading about Hopke.net's web access for $12/yr too. Needs the cable for that.

No way to get ringtones on your phone without paying Verizon eh? Try Phonezoo.com , Mobile17.com. Also, the Micro SD compartment is springloaded so if you're ejecting the memory card the correct way, it should be a sinch! I've never had a problem with mine and i eject it quite often for music, pictures, etc. Inserting the memory card into the card reader isn't exactly rocket science either and it's not very annoying it takes like 2 seconds and there ya go, all of your files up on your computer. That's all I'm saying.
