mp3 sound sent to phone, but to make it a ringtone...

I sent an mp3 to my phone by just changing the extension from .mp3 to .mid and attaching it to an email to my number @vzwpix.com

but on this phone, unlike other LGs, it allows you to save sounds, but then they cannot be set as ringtones. how do I save the sound as something i can use (ringtone, alerts, etc)? thanks!

Some Cool Tricks with the 9800

All,

Here are some nice tricks to further customize your phone (PS, You do this at your own risk, do not blame me for anything)

1) Customize the HomePage for your Mobile Web
- Go into the Main Menu
- Type 0
- Enter Service code of all 0's (000000)
- Hit 8
- Hit 4
- Type in the new homepage you would like and then hit ok to set. I use mobile.yahoo.com because it provides me with driving directions, movies, sports, new and most importnatly my email (be advised the phone will reset automatically)

2) Accessing Free internet on your phone (this link also includes a How-to on installing a free IM client called Trillian which allows you to send and receive IM's for free.

LG Phones and Mac Bluetooth (with iSync) Help!

All,

After reading a ton of info, it seems no one has been able to get LG phones to work on a Mac via the Bluetooth (because apple iSync does not support LG phones). I read somewhere that someone had found the hack to do this but can not find how. It involves the Product ID and Vendor ID of the phone.

Its odd cause the Mac recognizes the device as a bluetooth device its just not supported.

If anyone had any leads or knows of the hack to get this working, ill buy you a nice bottle of wine!

equalizer

I just got my phone and I'm trying to check the equqlizer but I don't know how. I don't have my mini sd. Also I turned off the bluetooth but in just two days my battery is on 1 bar left. I'm on my 4th day and my second choice is the 8100. Though I like the phone a lot.I don't even know how to install MP3 on this.

Can you expand the amount text msgs it holds?

Since this phone basically caters to people who text a lot, is there a way to increase the amount of messages it holds before the memory is full? Its just annoying to have to delete them every couple of days as opposed to once a week.

VX9800 Small Font Size a Big Issue

Follow up to my other posts about small unchangeable font size on the VX9800.

I have had my 9800 since Thursday, and at this point can pretty much live with the fine size font on the external screen, but one thing I may not be able to live with is the extremely small font size in Mobile Web 2, when reading or posting e-mails.

VZW support rightly says that they provide MW2 for all phones and they can't possibly alter it to match particular models. Makes sense to me.

LG at this point has no fix for the font issue. The problem is due to this super beautiful screen. Beautiful screen means very hi-rez and hi-rez means everything shrinks down in the LCD including fonts.

Although LG's MW2 may look OK on say 8100, with a lower rez m...

Camera takes different size pictures...

Has anyone else noticed that if you take a picture with it in "candy bar style," the picture has white lines on the sides of it? Taking a picture in candy bar mode basically makes you take a smaller pic that doesn't even expand itself. If you open the phone to take the pic, it expands to the whole portion... soo if you want to use a pic as a background, make sure you open the phone to take the pic.

Doesn't this seem a bit odd? I mean I use my phone to take quick pictures or pics at the bar... I don't want to have to flip it open every single time to take a full size picture.

Anyone else notice this?

Just got my phone...things to check for

I just got my phone today -- WOW-- having got it sight unseen, I am amazed at the size and the picture quality...it is everything everyone is talking about. Those who say this phone is too big, you must have small hands, cuz if anything think its too small..anyways....

So while it charges up overnight, what sort of things should I look for check, and test to make sure it is not a defective unit?

So how is the AIM on this thing? Need to know before I buy!

This is my first post, and I am still learning on how these forums work and I would appreciate it if you guys would help me.

Now anyway. I wanted to go over to T-Mobile and get the Sidekick II or wait for the III, but my area T-Mobile isn't that good and when I heard about the VX9800 I WAS PSYCKED!

But the problem is the only reason I wanted these keyboard is because I am a huge AIM and TXT freak. I love sending messages out to friends and I am always on the move so I thought the Sidekick would be great with its full fledged AIM ability. But since I am sticking with Verizon because I get full reception everywhere I go and everyone I know is Verizon I needed to choose a keyboarded phone. Long story short that is the VX9800 is the p...

Played with the new LG 9800 in store

I was at Verizon yesterday so play with the new LG VX 9800 and well ill be honest with you, its a bit weird to get used to. Due to the phone being a "flip out" desing and converting into a full QWERTY keypboard type of phone/ all in one multimedia device, it took some getting used to the keyboard. I'm not up for my new every 2 yet, but I am still trying to get used to this new phone. To those of you here that already have the phone though, a couple of questions for you. 1. WHen the phone is closed, the speakerphoen isn't automatically activated meaning you are able to put the phone up to your ears and talk on it yet the second the phone is opened up the speak activates. Why? Also, for text messaging on the inside w/ the phone flipped open, ...

Very specific question about e-mail using this phone

The biggest reason I want to buy this phone is to use my yahoo mail account on-the-go. I use both the basic yahoo mail and the yahoo business mail. My question is: will I be able to use each of these accounts to send and receive mail via mobile web 2 on this phone?
