LG VX-8100

Is it because the 3300 is just an cosmetic upgrade to an existing phone while the 8100 is something entirely different?

I really wish there was more information concerning a release date available for the 8100.

I've been following this thread for quite a while now and I CANT wait for the 8100...anyways...over on howard forums "Stuffman" posted this two days ago...

Today, quite frustrated with the lack of information regarding the release of the VX8100, I decided to hit up 4 of the local Verizon dealers to see if I could get them to divulge any information (they are pretty locked down with NDAs, so I had to be crafty to get the answers I was looking for).

First stop was the official Verizon Store. Suprisingly, I was able to stand there for nearly three minutes without being accosted by a salesperson. I told him that my contract was ending soon (it is), and that I was interested in the VX8000, but heard the 8100 was to be released at

😁 I work at a verizon store in the MINKY Region. I was ordering a battery for a customer today. The 8100 Extended battery is now listed for D-fill. Soon very soon! I am also waiting on this phone!

I'm an Authorized Verizon dealer & on our internal website, Info Center, there is an Approved Device List & as of TODAY the 8100 is on there!! It will for sure be out within a month!! 😁 😁 YIPEE!! I'm so Happy I could cry 😢

how do i get a rebate coupon? at the store? or do i get it from somewhere else? 😕

I was part of last summer's Moto V710 craze. I bet a co-worker that I'd get mine first by ordering online. We both ordered the day it was released, me on the web, him on the phone. The web was working only sporadically, and it was taking him hours to get through to sales, but we both got our orders through that day. Unfortunately we couldn't track the orders since online order tracking didn't work, and he couldn't get through to track his, so it came down to the wire. I got mine on Thursday, he had to wait 'til Monday since he missed his Fedex delivery (had it shipped to his house by mistake - bummer!).

I too am not sure why people are so excited over the phone. I will probably get one if it is released soon. I may however just get the moto. My problem, why don't they just tell us what is going on? Why such a big secret over when the phone will hit the consumer market? Either tell me it is coming out with an expected date, or say it isn't coming out!!!

Everything seems to be such a secret, but what is the reasoning? Crap, not like this is some top secret military technology that we are trying to unveil. Release some new phones already!!! Seriously....I agree it's a really cool but it seems like this phone and when it's being released is like the second coming of Jesus (no offense intended to anyone or thier religon--just an analogy). I'm planning on getting one but not the minute it's released--I may wait a month or two and see what issues may crop up.

So I'm wondering what everyone's reason is wanting this phone this badly.

Man I just walked into the Verizon store today and there it was! Got my 8100 and love it.The phone has that nice LG feel about it.

just wondering how long you will wait for the 8100 to be released before buying something else. My plan has expired so i am waiting for the 8100, but i think i will buy the 8000 if its not out by the end of june.

I plan to get the 8100 when its available - but - i'm likely to be "on the road" (away from my home in NJ). Can I purchase from ANY verizon store/dealer AND transfer my number (201 area code) to the new phone? I'm likely to be in texas when the 8100 becomes available.

The 8100 has a better, more modern look. I would consider the 8000 but it just appears so big and clunky. The same goes for the 7000. I had that phone for a day and returned it as soon as I found out about the 8100.

many people already know, that lg makes a much more durable and user friendly phone thats a fact! you can bank on it. the motorola phones hide there pictures when you save them and make you look all through the whole memory before you find where the hell it put it. lg phones put the pic in the photo gallery wow cool concept. motorola........who? get a life!

if you look at the verizon website they are giving away many phones, and some even multiples. i think they are trying to make lots of room for the new phones coming out soon

A better selection of wallpaper and ringtones then other lg phones. I know you can you go to getpix and put whatever wallpaper you want on it, but I do enjoy the stock wallpaper that comes with the phone and I hope its not more yellow flowers and puppy dogs. The surfing/snowboarder on the lg6100 was cool. More of those would be nice. And more professinal ringtones would be nice also. 😁

So with this said the latest that the E815 is being released is the middle of July and it would only be smart of LG to want there phone released around the same time to get a fair market share. "Better to be first then it is to be better"

😕 😕 😕 😕 As I posted, rumors from VZW to LG said to be mid July. When I asked him if he had any technical knowledge of the phone, he volunteered the BT info about file transfer. Makes sense that it would be easy to pick up a virus transferring files. Look at your PC. As far as opening the flip for the speakerphone, that sucks. LG website now showing the 9100 and PM325. No hint of the 8100. Also, pushing TV commercials. All weekend - the Treo 650. Have a weird feeling you're not going to see the 8100 or e815 for some time. Sure hope I'm wrong.
