New Phone V265
Hi, I call a sales rep today and they said that alltel will be getting the new V265 in two weeks have anybody else heard this.

800 Mhz
I noticed when roaming on Verizon networks my signal strength is reduded significantly indoors (ie Chicago and Orlando). I believe Verizon is converting more and more of their network to 1900 Mhz for data but this reduces building penetration. This has always been a problem for Sprint. I do not see many other carriers running 800 Mhz on CDMA, why? Can Alltel expand this frequency further? It appears to be the CDMA frequency of choice overseas in places like China.

Enabled Bluetooth Profiles for Alltel & US Cellular
With the VZW V710 we all know that only 3 bluetooth profiles are enabled.

problem
ok...i dont know where this should be...so i guess ill post it in different sections. ok...i was trying to get some ringtones, and when i went to put them on my phone...my phone restarts. now i cant send anything to my phone now. i dont know if this is a bitpim problem...or a 5550 problem. i installed the newest bitpim (7.24?), but the problem came up...so i uninstalled that...and installed the version before that (that worked properly). any help?
Any Ideas as to ALLTEL's Marketing Stance Now?
I'm just curious to hear other ideas on ALLTEL's possible positioning now that they are aquiring Western Wireless. This gives them their CDMA network, WW's TDMA network and GSM network, not to mention the GSM towers they bought from the Cingular divestiture. It also allows them to control 70% of all the roaming agreements in the country. Very interesting developments.

Still looking for a pda and/or blackberry with Alltel
When will alltel spend some time and money to get with it. Even though alltel is a very small regional carrier. I get great coverage and signal with them. I NEED a combo phone . ...kyocera 7135 is 4 years old.

Merger?!?
I was talking with a manager in a store here in Florida and he said that Alltel has plans to be #4 by the end of next year. Does anyone know if they are planning a merger or a buyout of another carrier? I heard a rumor that Sprint was for sale if the $$$ was right.

I live in Mississippi and will not be getting the V710 because it's only being released in HSA markets. Therefore, I was looking at the Audiovox because I want an upgrade from my basic Nokia...but I just read that Nokia just released a new CDMA camera phone that looks pretty sweet (model 6235 i think). Anyone know if Alltel will be picking this nokia up anytime or should I just go ahead and get the Audiovox?

V262 capable to IM from AOL coming soon!!!!!!!!!
This is the only Alltel handset that will have this capability when it it offered, and it can recive and send pic messages, and also comes with new for Motorola a speaker phone , oh yeah check out that battery life.......Phantom Out!

If you have a 5450 camera phone take a pic, act as if you are going to send a Pic message,you have an option to add audio to your message, tune your radio to your favorite JAM and record. Now send the picmes to any # example 1, it will fail, but will save in photo outbox/detail the failed message you can save the audio from that message into your Ringtones Bam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend bought the Audiovox 8900 but us unable to email photos from the phont to other email addresses. Alltel CSVC said this is a known problem with this phone.
