I miss working for Alltel

Most of my customers were unhappy Verizon or AT&T customers.

Anyone still using alltel?

I live in NW iowa and have to make a choice. To pick a phone out of the lousy choices Alltel offers me for a 1-year contract, or wait until the merger with AT&T is complete, or switch companies all together. Since this is one of the markets verizon was forced to divest, I'm 99% sure there is no 3g in my area.. so that rules them out.. and Sprint also has no service in my area...

Advice anyone???

Chad is BACK!

When last seen, Chad was walking beside Test Man being welcomed to the team. Well...Alltel is still running commercials. Chad is here and so are the four guys from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The evil four are accused of locking customers into long term contracts. Chad offers the LG Touch FREE with a one year contract.

elimination of alltel authorized agents

how many authorized alltel agents were axed, so the big vzw could place a super store in their market, or a super retailer store.
agents for 10 years in my case, 20 years down the street, 15 years in another and so on. talk about rolling over the little guy to make the big guy.

i came from corporate america, i understand the stockholder is number 1.

just watch your backs out there.

LG Etna?

I'm an Alltel indirect dealer, and my store just got a dummy model of an LG AX840 Etna. It's a touchscreen with a slide-out keyboard ala HTC Touch Pro, 3MP camera... anybody know anything about it? I never heard of the phone, let alone the price point or any other features.

verizon in nebraska?

I don't know if this is because they're starting to switch but I was with my friend yesterday and and he had to call his brother, Jake. He called him and got an automated voice answering machine that said "this person in the alltel network cannot be reached blah blah blah" then we called back about 2 or 3 hours later and it said "this person in the verizon network cannot be reached blah blah blah." I hope this is a sign that says it's coming soon!

ANY NEW PHONES

My contract is up next month and I'm trying to decide on a new phone. The alltel rep said they will probably start selling verizon phones by the end of august but nothing at verizon catches my eye either. I thought about switching to Sprint but would rather stay with alltel/verizon. Any ideas on new phones coming to alltel/verizon? Thanks for the input.

Alltel of Northeast Mississippi

Stores are now Verizon. And Verizon customers in Corinth-Tupelo need to do a *228 option 2 to have there ERI changed from Extended Network to Verizon Wireless.

Adios, Alltel in Charlottesville!

Well, we've got just a couple of days to go here in the heart of central Virginia before Alltel is no longer available as an option for new service.

In the final analysis, Alltel was a superior service. The phones weren't all that exciting, but certainly more than adequate. When I was outside an Alltel market I never had a problem picking up a signal unless I was out in the middle of nowhere, in a building that prevented a signal from getting to my phone, etc. In other words, the phone functioned pretty normally.

It makes all the sense in the world, at this point, that Alltel should join forces with/succumb to Verizon. It had to happen sooner or later. Alltel has had no rudder since selling out to the financial holding compani...

So...

Since att bought the verizon towers from the left over alltel areas or whatever, does that mean the ares that didnt go to verizon is now going to eventually be att, and should we now get the option to cancel when that happens since it will be cdma to gsm conversion and i will be required to change my plan and phone?
