I wish I could have been there to see it burn to the ground!! I was the number one sells rep at my store and they fired me because I had to take time off to have surgery and they accused me of slamming features considering they said i was putting the bbpd on lines that shouldnt have got it! The only problem is that they accused me of this once they had starting using dashboard! You could only do that in cellware or v2 but since v2 was not allowed to make feature changes there claims were total bs !! I hate alltel and I want to be there to see big red give them some kool aid!!

Sounds like you earned it. You were wanted gone for a reason, your manager asked HR to look for an easy to prove reason.

You could still go into V2 in many situations and slam, and you could do the same in Dashboard. It wasn't that hard, really.

Trust me I couldnt go into v2 they blocked our markets access to it the only thing we could do was esn changes and such but couldnt add or change anything feature wise in V2 ! I never added a feature to anyone unless they asked for it or got a smartphone

I don't know how you can say someone earned it when they didn't do anything wrong ! They told me I could keep my job if I said I did it but I really didn't ! I had to have surgery and they got really mad that I had to take time off if I were slamming features don't you think i would have lots of complaints?!? Which I didn't have any I had about 75 surveys that all said I was doing great hell I even got a raise I set store records and market records ! Don't you think I pissed off the others in the store because I sold more than them ?!? When I came in to my store I was number one till the day I got fired !!! Of course a new guy that beats everyone is going to have a few people pissed at them! Sounds like to me you don't like co workers doing ...

Heck no I will never get over it ! That's like saying my family was robbed and you saying get over it ! The only difference is that alltel screwed me and I want to be there when all the other reps get laid off because they are not keeping all the people that work there it never happens that way ! If you got over it so easy maybe you got what was coming to you!

Dude, you need to chill. If you were wrongfully terminated, you should have taken it up with HR. I'm sure your regional HR rep would have looked into it. Ours was excellent, and due to her looking into a couple of situations, people kept their jobs.

I think it's quite possible you were hosing people, and just got caught. Maybe you were taught wrong, and didn't realize you were breaking rules. Maybe, you had been cheating the company, and your manager and RSM just wanted you gone. Maybe someone at VZW just didn't want you tarnishing the company name, because you had more bad RSS scores, and you just didn't know about them. Who knows?

In short, move on, or request a different result through HR. Whining about it on PS is not going...

Alltel is scared to death of wrongful termination lawsuits. There's a LOT of slammers in the company, and no shortage of people committing it now with dashboard. I can safely say of the Statesboro, GA store that HR has been notified of multiple in that store with well documented evidence of slamming, stealing phones, false churn, etc and it goes all the way to the manager who not only rewards this behavior but also covers for them if the need ever arises (I view the RSM and VP in the same boat for allowing this to happen, just like the previous RSM having sex with employees in exchange for promotions which they got and was common knowledge). Opps, on a rant, but case in point HR doesn't fire someone for hearsay they have to have well docu...

hell if I know ! Why would I be fussing about something like this if I really did it ? What is the point really? Since then I have got a new job and am making more money so I say screw alltel ! You don't understand how alltel employees were being treated the day after alltel bought verizon! I am not talking about the day they actually owned it but I am talking about how managers were scared they were going to lose their job trust me you don't understand how business works ! People need to make a name for themselves and if I slammed features don't you think I would have many complaints?? Well I didn't have one single complaint so get your damn facts correct before you go off saying I was fired for actually slamming because i sure as heck didn...

Dude, I was there, I know how it was. Things were lovely until January 9th. In April, all but 13 people in my market were told they were being laid off (out of 153). I was one of the lucky few to be laid off, then offered a position before the June 27th final store closing (in this area). You don't need to defend yourself to the treatment we received, but if you were tossed, and that was the reason given... If it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.

Alltel was not a company that needed to make up reasons to dump you. It was too easy to do time sheet fraud, or prove that you were fraudulently adding features. Hell, if you manager didn't like you, they would have moved you, to avoid the hassle. At least t...

Nope. You would have been told to close your shift, turn in your key, sign your paperwork, and then a text message would have been sent out to everyone else in the market that you were to be treated as a regular customer.

That's just how it worked at Alltel. No need for anymore drama than that.

You're right, I only have what you've told us. Please, share with the class who your employer is now, because if it's VZW, that will clear up your termination. If not, then it's really your word, against that of Alltel.

Alltel will still remain, assuming the company that purchased the remaining assets keeps the name for brand recognition. The new parent company holding the remaining customers (just under one million), doesn't have any current wireless stake in the United States, and operates several small wireless companies outside the US. It would make sense to keep the Alltel brand.

Two things:

One: The Alltel brand will cease to exist when the transactions to complete the required divestitures are complete - it's a part of the Verizon/Alltel deal.

Two: The West & Upper Midwest are yet to be completely converted to Verizon. So those stores are still operating as Alltel.

Hmm... According to a story I read in Fierce Wireless (I think it was Fierce), the company that's buying the reamining assets is going to continue to operate under the Alltel name for some time as part of the conditions of their purchase. Not sure if there's a limit to it though. It would make sense for a name change to happen eventually, just to avoid the eventual "Verizon/Alltel merger, again!" announcement. Laughing

Ok..you probably already know but..

What is left of Alltel (105 Markets around the country) are being sold. 79 of them to AT&T and the other 26 to Atlantic TeleNetwork..The vote for the AT&T purchase happens in October or early November.

These markets were not able to be acquired by the Verizon merger that happened earlier this year. The DOJ and FCC said that you can't have that much.

Hope that clears it up..
