People need to take responsibility for themselves.
You signed the contract and willingly accepted a discount on your phone for two years of service. If you cancel before that two years are up, you are responsible for the ETF, and you alone!
I am tired of people thinking that they don't have to be responsible for their actions. Don't sign up for a contract if you can't take the ETF!
Verizon didn't sign the contract with Sprint, the consumer did!
So why should Verizon pay their ETF for them?

I had bad luck with Blackberries.
I had several models before I gave up. And each time I had dropped calls, and poor battery life.
I used to blame AT&T Cellular until I bought an unlocked phone, then I noticed that my reception got way better.
I avoid Blackberry at all costs now.
That's what I did.
I bought a Sonim XP3 rugged phone for 400 bucks and took it to AT&T Cellular and they set me up as a month to month.

I always tell them, "Well if Walmart can offer you the Droid for 50 bucks with a one year contract, go buy it from them, because we are not authorized to offer such a deal here. In fact, when I get off work I'll go to Walmart myself because that's a heck of a deal!"
And you know what, it works every time because they insist on buying from me, even though I keep telling them to go to Walmart. ...

Sprint has already laid off thousands of employees because they keep losing money every quarter because so many post-paid subscribers are leaving in droves.
It is really sad, and I think in a year, Sprint may drop down to number 4. T-Mobile is getting close to Sprint now in terms of subscribers, and they ain't doing so hot either.
