You are older than the age of 4 right? Then when you see an adult on the phone go make yourself busy until they are off. You are complaining about nothing.

Every line up of phones that come out, include 70% smartphones, 20% texting phones, 10% plain jane phones. Sorry to say but due to idiots and their wonderful misuse of pay per use on their smartphones Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile all require data plans on smartphones.

Re: I CAN NOT SET UP YOUR UNLOCKED PHONES

It won't work. Our AT&T systems will not recongize the Storm as a Blackberry. Therefore if it can't recongize it then the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) system won't connect.

I CAN NOT SET UP YOUR UNLOCKED PHONES
Jan 15, 2010, 6:40 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

I get multiple calls a day from people with unlocked Blackberry Storms, or those cheap Chinese iPhone knockoffs. Regardless as to which phone it is, unless it states AT&T on the device we can not get our system to recongize it, period. So your Storm will not work with our help. Can you get a Storm to work on the AT&T network, sure, can I help you in doing so. Nope. Thanks, any billing reps who transfer these calls to ...

If a customer calls in with a Blackberry I am an endless source of help. However if that same customer calls in with an iPhone, Windows Mobile Device, Nokia Smartphone, or a Palm phone I can still help only if the customer is smart enough to navigate their phone.

Re: BEST BUY!
Jan 2, 2010, 9:36 AM

The extra $30 charge is probably the new data plan for their new data phone. However just because you don't get the sale doesn't mean you have any right to treat a customer like crap. You still work for the same company, you just didn't get the sale because of your bad prices. Explain to me why a customer would want to spend $200 extra on their phone just so you can help them?

Re: BEST BUY!

Best Buy does have some pretty sweet prices: Example: Best Buy HTC Pure - $0.00 after instant rebate Samsung Jack - $0.99 after instant rebate Blackberry Bold 2 (9700) - $99.99 after instant rebate AT&T.com HTC Pure - $149.99 after $50 mail in rebate Samsung Jack - $0.00 after $100 mail in rebate Blackberry Bold 2 (0700) - $99.99 after $100 mail in rebate So I don't know about you but I would love to open a new line of service and pay nothing then have to pay $200 ...

Pineapple Express was a stoner silly joke movie. Where Observe and Report was a way darker comedy that also showed the slow twisted decline of an otherwise perfectly nice person.

Sadly by refusing a responsible request because a customer is upset can and most likely will get you fired. And not like that cusotmer cares if you help them or not, they are using you to release some pent up frustration. If you refuse their requests and they call back they will get someone and be more level headed.

You must only look farts and poop jokes because Observe and Report was actually really well done. However I would agree its not for everyone since it was a dark (very dark) comedy that wasn't marketed as such.

Shot up heroin and stole stuff (Observe and Report was a way better movie)

They make mad bank on the crappy accessories they sell in the store. They sell cheap horrible bluetooth headsets for $30, and crappy generic cases for $25. Believe you and me those accessories that your wonderful company sells does not cost them more than a buck or two. On top of that your company also does outsource its telephone help. Because I have called for billing and tech support before and the gentleman who I was talking ...

App Error is as easy as removing an app and reinstalling it. However if it is a JVM error or the customer is getting a cycling restart request you can help them format the phone. Its in device tutorials.

As soon as customer cares hears the word blackberry they transfer the call. It could be the following question, "How much is the new Blackberry Bold 9700?" Ummmm let me get you to BDS.

The skinny is that if the customer willingly signs a contract which clearly states the processing fees on it then they are responsible for it. Its like AT&T giving them an iPhone for $199 and the first time they have a late bill we get nervious about how good of a customer they will be and we ask for the $400 we took off the phone.

Somehow I doubt there is a single customer who would want to pay $60/month for a service that will be spotty and slow. Also a 2G aircard is not leaps and bounds faster than a 56k dial up connection. You sound like a great salesman, because you are slimey and could care less about the customers you are supposedly helping.

This is funny because I tell most of customers looking to upgrade (after I have performed technical troubleshooting) to get their phone through Best Buy, or letstalk.com because the corp stores are a huge rip-off

Exactly, the fact a new article of child porn (a picture or video of a nude minor) is produced and could easily be made available to the internet makes it a serious crime. Two 14 yrs olds sharing nude pictures is still and will always be a punsihable crime if caught.

Sorry but when you're in school the school reserves the right to search your locker, your backpack, and your phone if they confinscate it from you. And yes naked pictures of a 14 yr old are still child porn. The offender being near the same age doesn't matter.

Re: the real reason companies charge activation
Dec 16, 2009, 6:46 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

Corporate Greed is the reason? Doubtful. Processing fees are in several other products. Ever buy a new car? How much do you have to pay to have it put on paper that its yours? Hundreds! And you have to do it once a year. So if a consumer can say, "Hey I want 6 blackberries, with $30/month internet a piece" then they should be able to afford all costs associated with said ...

Here is an example: A customer comes into a camera store. Their friend or a previous sales rep might have told them for a good camera the only kind to buy are SLRs. They didn't dive into what the customer truly needs. They might not even be good with cameras or have that much money to spend. So ask them what they will use it for, how much would be acceptable, what features they need. Then ...

A lot of times I get calls about this and refer them back to the store to cancel the contract in the first 30 days. So I have no idea why you waste yours or the customers time.

Thats a good guess, and the customer would have never known unless you told them because even with enterprise activated they can still set up a BIS account. I have seen equally shaddy stuff from corp stores. My least favorite one is when they sell an aircard to someone who lives in a terrible service area.

Please store reps (I have a list) 1.) Don't sell someone a mobile broadband card that leaves out in poor coverage. You can check the map just like I can. 2.) Please don't push smartphones on customers who aren't smart. 3.) Don't tell them that customer service will waive any fees they have an issue with. (Example: Activation fee, upgrade fee, first month of employee discount) 4.) Help a customer out by giving us a call while they are in the store. ...

Well this call should have went a bit further. Was this customer's friends and family recieving the text they thought they were sending them? Also look into past credits and notes. If they have never recieved a credit for this type of situation you can give them a one time credit for these, unless it was a ton.

I have been screamed at by plenty of customers but instead of fueling their rage I like to de-esculate the situation and possibly win the customer over. You can ask the customer to leave but what if they so say no, then what? You can't raise your voice, use foul language or hit them so you are up a creek. Sadly in the customer service field one asset of your postition is a verbal punching bag. Sucks but its true.

I understand exactly where you are coming from but to be honest I am one of the reps who likes to help the customer with exactly what they called about and get them off the line. However I was in danger of losing my job if I didn't start dragging calls into the 10 and 1/2 minute mark. So please understand that they might just be doing what someone higher than them tells them to do. If need ...

Lol that might be some IVR systems are broken. The other possibility is transfering someone to a department transfer that no longer exsist. Here at AT&T though it lets them know that is was a bad transfer and hangs up.
