We score on a number of things.
Expectations being set (Anything financial or service impacting, such as prorated charges).
Making test calls to the customers device after any type of equipment change to ensure it's working.
A positive initial response to the customer.
A good closing (including the word resolved)
Tone and demeanor
etc
These are just a few of the points AT&T reps are scored on.

It can be waived, based on your FAN (corporate) discounting, but this is pretty rare, actually.

It must be in the contract with your employer. The $15 data plan should be discounted. The FAN discount does not apply to messaging features, or other features on the account.

The 499 price is an "early upgrade" price. Full retail would be the $699 price tag. :)

Ahh ok. I'm quality assurance at a third party call center. Agents DEFINITELY get watched on their credits. $5 average a call, $250 SoA, Supervisors have $500 SoA.

On this note, I'd say a good 10% of the calls we get (I'm actually a quality assurance rep in business end user care) are customers saying a COR rep said their act fee would be waived - when it's NOT in their ecpv profile.
Also, reps call in, and ask our reps to do credits a LOT of times, just so the rep can add a feature and get a sale.

My Uncle had AT&T in Shreveport, LA and had a Bold and it did the same thing. He droped AT&T all together.
My friend who lived in St. Louis with me had an iPhone, moved up to Chicago for college and could not use her phone in her doorm or classes. She switched back to Verizon and is able to make calls and use data.

The Voice Store (*NOW) was a virtual store concept, which allowed customers to self-activate features rather than having to call customer service.
This self-service feature is no longer available. Should a customer use *NOW (*669) and select Option 1 to add a service or feature, they will be asked to again select Option 1 and then will be transferred to a CLM Call Center representative who can assist the customer in adding a feature.

Thickjake.. seriously, my call center just opened up a new center in the phillipines for AT&T's NBO department. :) They all have degree's and work for a fraction of the cost. Skilled labor, little costs..
Now I'm not even saying that I'm pleased the call center I work for is opening up oversea's centers.. (Just hope we're not next!) they have had centers in canada for awhile, and the US centers are still thriving.

The amount of messes I listen to agents clean up on a DAILY basis is astounding. Customers that were not explained their CSS at all, so had no idea what features were being put on the accounts..

And most people that have an iPhone got it because that's the phone they actually wanted.. RIM has a smaller, more business-minded consumer base than the iPhone does, so most people that want/need a blackberry - again - also got a blackberry.

LoL... I've had quite a few callers and heard a lot of horror stories about RS reps.. but not nearly as many as like small kiosks etc.
And store reps dont generally mess things up, they just add every possible feature they can. ;)
